27 Cameron Diaz FanClub Mike Endredy 0 781
28 Spennymoor FC Chris Rowcroft 0 735
29 Sons of Pitches Andrew Capener 0 679

Ignore the column of zeros - I didn't manage to grab the updated table prior to the start of the current GameWeek.

Pleccy's managed to plec his way to the top, plucking out the ships cork which is now beginning to take on water. And I'm waiting just under the surface, hoping to time my own united onslaught. Whilst at the other end...aiii-yaaah! [shakes head]

Who's still in the official Fantasy Cup? I've made if further than last year. 8)

Well, with one thing and another the results of the Quarter Finals of the RGF Cup have been delayed. So, without further ado:

Losing Eleven 46 - 44 Pleccy FC

Yah boo sucks: I'm out. Bah! As for the Semi Finals:

27 Spennymoor FC Chris Rowcroft 64 924
28 sixteenfiftyoners jermaine green 37 922
29 Sons of Pitches Andrew Capener 31 826

Pleccy'n 'eck! The new starr of the show maintains his postion at the summit, the good-ship Douglas finally taking on water. And as it's every man for himself, my United boys take advantage by moving up into 2nd! Marvin's Marvels have clearly lost their sheen and are beginning to seriously drop off the pace and down to 5th, allowing for a Normandy landing in 4th. At the other end... oh, why bother! But I must. The Sons obviously want relegation and are now dead certs for it, 1651ers wanting to join them. Spennymoor FC seem to be doing as well as, um, Spennymoor FC and the Frauds are clearly that this season. Frank has probably spanked his team too hard and often and the Virtual 11 are clearly not playing for real.

The table, as at the end of February:

# Team Manager GW TOT
1 pleccy FC Adam Starr 56 1,426
2 Sputryk United Richard Davy 49 1,399
3 SSC Douglas 1926 Christian Carley 55 1,395
4 Marvin's Marvels David Marsden 52 1,377
5 The Normandy N R 50 1,347
6 CPFC-2011 Darren Pizzy 45 1,319
7 Bend It Like Burton Richard Burton 54 1,303
8 Gabbafiend FC scott adcock 45 1,300
9 Deportivo Box XI Rhys Wynne 45 1,300
10 Spartak Rosco '11 Ross Phillips 43 1,278
11 Super Buster Team Go Rich Hopkins 60 1,274
12 Winning XI Rob Kuczynski 45 1,260
13 Fuseless Uckwits barry barber 40 1,245
14 dste United Dan Stephenson 53 1,237
15 Jamie WonderWard Davey Sloan 41 1,213
16 The Monkey Butler XI Barnaby Whattingham 56 1,206
17 Fredzakistan Craig Giles 39 1,199
18 Team Alfie Craig Hawkins 52 1,191
19 Bensonrad FC Benjamin Robinson 41 1,190
20 Red, White & Cyan Gordon Sinclair 48 1,178
21 Losing Eleven Damien Goy 22 1,142
22 Stimpson J. County Liam Hughes 44 1,112
23 Virtual 11 Ed Hale 49 1,107
24 Frank's Spankers V5 Frank Gasking 35 1,101
25 Cameron Diaz FanClub Mike Endredy 24 1,064
26 Spennymoor FC Chris Rowcroft 33 1,048
27 sixteenfiftyoners jermaine green 36 1,039
28 Firebreathers Frauds steve watson 34 1,024
29 Sons of Pitches Andrew Capener 54 977

It's getting tight at the top; Pleccy FC just managing to stay ahead of by my United and the sinking good-ship Douglas. Marvin's Marvels are beginning to make a comeback. At the other end, the Sons seem to now be making a go of it having strung some reasonable scores together, whereas the Frauds appear to want to swap places with them - could they be the first winners of a trophy to be relegated? Oh, the ignominy.

So, the results of the Semi-Final of the RGF Cup are in:

The Normandy 72 - 60 Marvin's Marvels
Losing Eleven 41 - 56 Team Alfie

The Final will therefore be contested by:

The Normandy -v- Team Alfie

This year it seems we are playing the Cup for no trophy (as there isn't one!). As for the league trophy, although last year's Champion did not want it posting (he lives in New Zealand!), the previous winner seems reluctant to post new piccies of it resplendant with the current Champion's details. Any problems with this, RB?

I was bored (and a little upset at how badly my team's doing), so I thought I'd make my team a proper kit:

27 Spennymoor FC Chris Rowcroft 18 1,216
28 Sons of Pitches Andrew Capener 32 1,176
29 Firebreathers Frauds steve watson 23 1,175

Well, during March pleccy fc began to march alone, now sitting a clear 100 points ahead of 2nd place. With only a handful of games to go it is looking likely that the trophy will be retained. Though Rich Burton still has it on pleccy's behalf. I've done so badly I cannot think of anything half comical to say about the chasing pack. Anyhoo, the bottom of the table is proving interesting - the fightback has succeeded! YES: the Frauds are now bottom, overtaken by a single point by a team that has finally learned to play more and swear less. Game on!

The result is in. The first trophy of the season has been won. The Final of the RGF Cup was being contested by The Normandy and Team Alfie. The final score:

The Normandy 43 - 49 Team Alfie.

So it's CONGRATULATIONS to Team Alfie!

PM me with your name and address and I'll arrange for the Cup provider, Marvin, to do his bidding. :D

17 Super Buster Team Go Rich Hopkins 76 1,657
18 Losing Eleven Damien Goy 92 1,647
19 Bensonrad FC Benjamin Robinson 49 1,633
20 Fredzakistan Craig Giles 79 1,572
21 Frank's Spankers V5 Frank Gasking 47 1,569
22 Virtual 11 Ed Hale 40 1,569

26 Spennymoor FC Chris Rowcroft 42 1,409
28 Firebreathers Frauds steve watson 74 1,404
29 Cameron Diaz FanClub Mike Endredy 44 1,380

Starr by name and starr by nature: looks like the league title will be retained for the first time. March games were a disaster for most teams, only pleccy utd managing to forge any kind of worthwhile results. And that is were the season was both won and lost. Yes: it isn't over 'til the singing, but only Normandy stands any kind of chance of wresting the crown, but still requires a weekly score of some 37 points MORE than pleccy utd, and I cannot see that happening. I think I am safe in 3rd, so it's a tussle between the sinking goodship Douglas and one (two) last hurrah for the Marvels.

Of more interest is the relegation zone. Those Sons are off the bottom and look like they will remain clear. Whereas, everyone in the Fan Club seems to be spending too much time gazing at Diaz and not playing football. The Frauds have finally shown a glimmer of their former glory, but possibly in vain. It looks like a 5-way shout for the four relegation places. Who has the wherewithall to go for survival? We'll find out in a few weeks. :D

In the meantime - Oi, Burton-boy! Pleccy has been waiting to see what he achieved last season. Any chance of a pic on here before you inscribe the next winners name on it? There's a good chap. :D

What the deuce? I won a trophy? I'd given up on my team at the turn of the year. Looks like I did okay in the league least week as well thanks to Suarez. I have been rewarded in the cup by my midtable league side for refusing to kick racism out of the game! Now it's Kenny Dalgish's turn in the FA Cup final.

Never give up! Just tinker with it from time to time. That's what has kept me in the Top5 for most of the season. Just couldn't find the magic needed for 1st place.

Yes: just as it has been since late February, the starr of the show is pleccy fc managed by Adam Starr. Let's all hear it, folks:

C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S !

For the first time, the RGF Fantasy Football trophy has been retained. Excellent work, pleccy.

At the other end, not much change. The Frauds finish in relegation along with Pitches, Spennymoor and Diaz. Only Pitches retain any vestige of pride, having started late and persistently scoring low for most of the season. Maybe next time, eh guys?

As for the trophy, there remains one final shield to fill. So: whoever wins the coming season will get to keep the trophy. Until then, pleccy will get to drool all over it. :D

Well played everyone, and see you next time!
