McLaren did it again! :D

Interesting that Vettel saved a set of tyres for the race rather than attempting to move further up the starting grid.

Super showing from Raikkonen - and a shame he's to be demoted five grid places for the race tomorrow.

The highest Schuey has qualified for an F1 race since the Japanese GP of 2006!

Oh, and one of the Routemaster buses scraped into the top 10.

Anyone here of the opinion that Jenson Button is a bit of a born with a silver spoon type character?

I don't. Maybe he received financial assistance from his father in his his early racing career but that's a pretty common occurrence. According to the sage that is Wikipedia, Button attended a comprehensive school and was brought up by his mother from the age of seven after his parents had divorced. Doesn't sound the classic born with a silver spoon in his mouth situation to me.

Ah, but what happened for the first 7 years?

I dunno, just seems a bit of a wet lettuce to me. Lewis on the other hand, seems to relish every moment, or did to start with anyway. I dont watch it as much anymore tbh. its just the impressions I get when I do.

Do your own bloody research, I ain't Michael Aspel!

I sometimes think Button's outward persona that the media is mostly presented with gives the impression he's really laid back. Perhaps that comes across to some as him being a bit casual. In some of the interviews I've seen with Button he came across as an extremely driven and motivated individual. Gone are the days of a few years ago when he had somewhat of a playboy image.

I get the impression he leads a balanced life whereas perhaps with Hamilton the focus on his F1 career is something that absorbs him more. That's not a criticism of Hamilton. My favourite F1 driver, Ayrton Senna, was arguably as narrowly focused on his F1 career as any driver that ever lived. His obsession with his F1 career seemed to be total.

Saying all that, I do get the impression (rightly or wrongly) that a poor performance would 'hurt' Hamilton more than it would Button. Then again, maybe Button is more able to keep his emotions in check so...

Really? I see them completely different.
Jenson seems a laid back, genuinely nice guy.
And Hamilton comes across as a bit of a pr!ck.

Seems to be a lot of anti-Hamilton sentiment on this forum for some time now.

Allow me to add this then:

Hamilton totally did not deserve his world title (IMO, it should have gone to Massa).
Button totally did deserve his world title.

Cos now it's obvious what he's actually like - frankly, a bit of a tool who'll throw a wobbler when things aren't going his way.

And the evidence to back up this claim?

 Fair enough.

I once knew a guy who worked for Goodyear back in the day. He regularly spoke with all the F1 drivers and said Schuey was nothing like the person he comes across as in the media. He said Schuey was a really laid back and pleasant kinda bloke who enjoyed a good laugh. Yeah, I know!

I loved Hamilton when he first came into the sport. He was fast and unpredictable - and showed Alonso a thing or two!
But now he's becoming more and more unlikable every time I see him. He's like a stroppy child that doesn't get his own way - last week on the podium, last week in the post race interview, last week in the top 3 interview...... Dummy out of the pram time. He should have been happy to get 3rd as it is only the start of the season.
As for his world championship - YES, he did deserve it and Massa did not.

Button on the other hand is just cool.
