Does anyone know if there is some sort of website which gathers all these event details/dates, venues etc in one place? I'd have liked to have done a stall at this but just booked into the Manchester MCM Expo for July, had no idea GB was even happening :(

^I was doing a mini site for it, until it got mental with events.

Wouldn't mind starting it up again, but with a wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better layout.
(It would end up full of stuff at the Lass)

A site would be a fantastic idea, I've been looking for a few events to attend and it's surprising just how many there is over the next few months. Thing is even with Google there's load I've missed on searches, GB for instance.

Surely Arcadian's thread on this very site does the job of listing all the upcoming gaming events? This one in Sheffield for example has been on that thread for months and has been plugged by Replay Events since last November... If you missed then then you haven't been looking hard enough! ;)

Nar a external site for those that dont want to join up work be better.

If someone wants to host (and help list some and do the designing) it im up for doing a proper one that lists all the gaming events round the globe

Been hoping to do something with http://www.gamingevents.co.uk for the past year-and-a-half, but we keep on piling our web dev up with other projects - and I can't see him having any time to work on it this year! But if there's a backend coder out there that fancies the challenge of building a site to share event listings, photos, videos, reviews etc - drop me a PM!

Also, I stumbled across this directory the other day, which seems pretty comprehensive; though it covers a lot of industry events, and I think you'd struggle to get some of the smaller retro meets featured.

Edit: Luthener - just checked and the July event at MAGNA was added to the Upcoming Events thread on 10th August! It's been in mine, Joey's and Helensification's sig all year, too!

You don't have to join the forum to see that thread, plus Lorfarius is a member anyway! I was simply pointing out that a resource listing upcoming events already exists...

National Press Release has just gone out on this from Sheffield Hallam University with some more information on this event - http://www.shu.ac.uk/news/release.html?ID=1079

---

Tickets for the Games Britannia: REPLAYED expo go on sale this week, with 50p out of every ticket sale going to SpecialEffect, a charity which is dedicated to helping young people with disabilities.

Games Britannia: REPLAYED, held at MAGNA Science Adventure Centre, will open its doors to the public on 7 and 8 July for a weekend of gaming events and activities to celebrate 40 years of the British videogame industry.

As well as the best in gaming, the weekend will include keynote speeches and workshops from some of the British industry's key players, plus help on breaking into the videogames industry with careers advice from Sheffield Hallam University games development academics and industry experts Blitz Academy.

In the 50th anniversary year of Dr No, Martin Hollis, producer of the legendary Nintendo 64 game Goldeneye, will share the stage with the man who helped to reload the James Bond game for the 21st century, Eurocom’s Tony Wills.

And marking 30 years of the Football Manager franchise, original creator Kevin Toms and current custodian of the series Miles Jacobson OBE of Sports Interactive will talk about the game and management genre’s lasting appeal.

Games Britannia founder Mark Hardisty said: “Games Britannia :REPLAYED is a little piece of E3 coming to Rotherham and Sheffield. We have a fantastic heritage in innovative and cutting-edge game development in Britain, and REPLAYED is about celebrating those games by looking at the past, present and bright future of the gaming industry on these shores.”

From 3D Monster Maze to Batman: Arkham City, Games Britannia: REPLAYED will feature some of the biggest British games, giving people the chance to celebrate games that will provide a legacy for future generations.

The ReplayAges section will showcase the best of British, American and Japanese hardware, along with examining some of the rarer and stranger devices that have appeared on the market over the last 40 years, in the Console Obscura section.

There will be a series of gaming tournaments throughout the weekend, arcade cabinets, a multiplayer lounge and a showcase of some of the best independently produced games of recent years, including UK exclusive first-plays of Majestic-12, Gunpoint Game, Redshirt and Girls Love Robots.

There will even be a board games micro-festival, with a selection of quirky and stimulating board games to try out over the weekend. And the Games Britannia after-party will feature the World Record Attempt for the physical videogame Renga, which uses giant screens and laser beams from visual interactive artists wallFour.

---

Plenty more going on behind the scenes of course; we'll update you when we get more information!
