Yes im looking into that.
Rotherham right?
Anyone know the bus number?

69, dude. Seriously. I think there's another one or two as well; your best bet will be to ask at the information desk in the interchange. And it's not in the centre of Rotherham (such as it is), so don't just assume you can get on any bus, you need one that goes past Magna.

As for the event, anyone know what time the Football Manager stuff will be? I might make a snap decision to go tomorrow, but probably won't be there for the start if I do go.

To re-quote, 69 is definitely what people need from the Interchange, right near the station, on the right on your way out. The bus does go bloody everywhere though but does get you to Magna.

There's definitely at least one other that goes that way too, if you've just missed a 69 (haven't we all?), then go and ask at the desk in the bus station. Or check travelsouthyorkshire.com and search timetables or journey planner for Magna.

I'm still in bed, so I really can't see myself bothering. Which is stupidly lazy, but I'm not sure what I'd get out of it apart from the FM stuff (which I may end up missing anyway, depends on the time). And I saw Miles do a talk at a similar thing at the Barbican about 5-10 years ago anyway.

Actually, having just tried searching for Magna on that sure, it doesn't even bring up the place. Stick with your 69 or ask at the desk.

Oh, and sorry about the triple post, but if anyone does have an answer on what time the Football Manager stuff is, I'd be grateful. If it's about half one or after, I may come down for the last few hours.

Cheers.

Came down at around 10:30 today, wandered around a played a few games, finally got to play on a Neo Geo Console, those controllers are awesome. It is a shame that I got to miss Miles from SI Games, but I had to leave early and the conference got delayed for an hour. Was nice to see a varied amount of people there, wasn't all just blokes and geeky types!

Well, tweeting and stuff failed (even though the official account has tweeted a few times after my question), so I couldn't be bothered to go in case I'd missed the thing I was 50% going for. Useless sods.

I've just got back from the weekend and it was ace. The guys worked very hard and produced a top show, and for the first time in a while I was there just as a punter with my lad. We had a great time, and he was chuffed to bits winning the very first competition he ever entered, Under 16, Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed.
He beat the closest person by fully 20 seconds, and when he had another go a little later on, he beat his previous time by another second. The guys from Sumo Digital (A local company) were there with a Sneak preview demo of the game and were very approachable, great to talk to, and enthusiastic about it. I had a few goes of the game myself, and am looking forward to it's release, it's a real cracker.
There were tons of Indie games which I thoroughly enjoyed, and I shall be looking up quite a few of them to play again later on. Unfortunately, I missed all the talks, I was too busy playing games for a change. Rasberry Pi was there in force, surrounded by a horde of Beebs, with the chance to type in some simple programs which was a fun little diversion.
Just want to say a big thanks to all the guys who worked so hard to put the show on, We has a great time, Cheers! :D

Decided to visit on the Sunday and had an absolutely fantastic time. Got there first thing, stayed right until the end. Extremely enjoyable and a massive, massive choice of systems to play on. The Projector Games setup was fantastic again (although they had less controllers than last time) and I thought the Indie area was brilliant too.

It was interesting to be in a venue which looked like the Scrap Brain Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog as well :D

A little harsh SirClive. I don't think the average punter realises how small the core team is or just how much needs doing behind the scenes at these events. Perhaps its something to consider for future events, giving one of the volunteers a smartphone to keep tabs on twitter/email during it to respond to customer queries etc? Ditto for those organising competitions, talks etc, give them some form of access so they can tweet that something will be starting in 15 minutes. I know things are announced on the PA but that's not always heard if you've nipped out for a bite or not in the main hall.
