Anyone own one of these TVs?

Postby Bub&Bob on Thu May 17, 2012 11:52 am

I want to get a new TV and have found 3 - wondered if anyone has any of the following (or a very similar model)? I know all 3 do a cracking job with HD etc but wondered what standard def was like?

LG 42LM760T Full HD 42" LED 3D TV

My dad has a series 8, not sure what model number is (its the white bezeled one) and when he bought it he only had a Sky+ box and DVD player.

I thought the picture in standard def was horrible in all honesty, and within a week of setting it up he'd bought Sky HD and a 3d blu ray player.....it's like i said to him, why pay all that money, if you're not going to use it to its full potential. He may as well bought a £200 40" from ASDA if he'd wanted to keep his Sky + and DVD. Of course, its easy spending someone else's money.

On anything over 32", standard definition TV is going to look quite blocky, no matter what trickery the set pulls.

Yeah, when pixels are now bigger than a mm then it's never going to look anything but shoddy.

Cheers folks - most TV I watch is in HD anyway - but my fav channel is BBC4 which is not (but its mainly) old content anyway and because I have Virgin Media, I can't get the F1 channel in HD.
