Hello there gentlemen and ladies,

The Retro Lords are holding our début event this year on Saturday September 1st on the sunny sea side of Canvey Island in Essex. There will be a fully stocked bar as well as all your favourite consoles! There will be plenty of tournaments, a high score competition featuring some classic retro games, a gaming quiz, retro cartoons and some retro goodies to buy. Topping it all off will be a GamerDisco (formally known as the brilliant Nintendisco) taking us into the early hours of Sunday morning.

Thanks! We are hoping everything goes smoothly (lol?). I hope a few of the Retro Gamer Forum community are able to make it. We have met quite a few guys now and it will be great to see familiar faces.

Think it would be nice to have a more varied game choice for the comps; I mean a high score run on Mushimesama? or 4v4 halo?

Hi!

The reason we have chosen such classic and perhaps generic tournament games for our first event is because we know that they have a mass appeal. In reality we are expecting more random locals to come to this event than experienced Retro Gamers...but in order to cater for the knowledgeable gamers we will also be running a High Score tournament throughout the day on a selection of lesser known games. Taking a hell of a lot on our plate but we have a fair few helpers so I'm sure it will be fine
