Fear and Fear Files completely freaked me out to the point I wouldn't play unless it was 1. daylight or 2. other people were in the house with me...

I had a simular problem with the first Project Zero game. Only survival horror game to freak me out. I couldn't play that game after dark at all!

Getting my Amiga 500 for the first time. For me it was a massive leap from 8 bit to 16 bit gaming, without wanting to start an 8bit/16bit argument of course.

- Beating both SF2 and SF2 Turbo on highest difficulty without losing a round with all characters.

- Super Mario 64, the entire game!

- And if I'm allowed to slip this one in, winning this heh...

a 20-year wait for my ultimate gaming moment

Postby necro on Thu Mar 20, 2008 10:02 pm

It took 20 years for me to finaly get my ultimate gaming moment. One of my all time favourite games for the spectrum is Chuckie Egg 2. I had been everywhere in that game and had seen every room. I had collected all ingredients and toy parts but could never complete it. I turned the generator on but then went back the same way, thus turning it off again preventing me from completing the game. I recently found out that a funny green cactus thingy was actually a ladder I could pick up. I dont know what made me think of it but I tried picking it up and it enabled me to get back up a different way, keeping the generator running. I had goosebumps playing the rest of the game because I knew what needed to be done in order to complete it and when I did, I felt nothing but relief. 20 years of weight was lifted off my shoulders. Nothing has compared to that - not even completing GTA san andreas with 100%.

I hope in the future you do a feature on Chuckie Egg 2. It got a brief mention when you did your chuckie egg feature and I was a little disappointed. Many regard CE2 as inferior but I loved the idea and the implementation of the gameplay. I'm sure that I'm not the only one to love this game so; so if possible, can we have a feature based on Chuckie Egg 2?
Cheers

Lee

Can I have two as well please?

1st one is finally completing Arcade R-Type for the first time on one credit, after what felt like an awful long time learning every attack pattern.

2nd one was completing Arcade Double Dragon firstly without using the dreaded elbow move and secondly without losing any energy. Obviously these two achievments took me a long time to do after I first completed DD.

Getting a dose of crabs from a prostitute and watching my crotch explode (damn forgot to wear my lubber) in the SVGA Leisure Suit Larry. Watching Aeries dies in FFVII is another. It annoyed me that Cloud wasn't a necropheliac though. I like sodomy in my games thank you!

I suppose I'll add completing Resident Evil 2 without saving to one of my greatest gaming achievements, even if it isn't all that hard - lol :)

We take it for granted now but at the time blowing a zombie's head clean off with a shotgun or magnum was tremendous!
