Been playing the Spectrum game quite a bit and work and it's fairly bland stuff, made enjoyable mainly becuase of the ridiculous Michael sprite on the right hand side of the screen. The Amiga version isn't much cop either. Having said that though, I think I enjoy the arcade version more than the Mega Drive outing, although that's probably because I'm a sucker for isometric games.

Actually, I instantly think of the Mega Drive version when I think of Michael Jackson's Moonwalker because that was the version I'd played the most - It's not as good as the arcade version but y'know, my brain just works in mysterious ways, not as mysterous as Jacko's did mind you.

i finally got to sit down with the master system version, so I could compare it with the mega drive that I played so much in the past

A few observations

Why has the boss man turned into a crazy lego headed man in a boiler suit

I never realised how much I relied on the sparkly bits coming out of the limbs to catch distant enemies, having limited availability of a ranged attack makes the game a lot trickier, especially as the hat won't travel through objects, whereas the sparkly bits would (iirc)

The lift moves awfully fast in the car park, not that it's a bad thing

And on the car park the dogs are a royal pain in the bottom

Oh, and while I'm on the subject, during morphing into a car, jacko has an intermediate stage as a robot, why the hell does he not wander around like that kicking seven shades of shamon out of everyone (hmmm, Cybernator rom hack anyone  )

I remember all the previews for the Speccy version, and I ended up buying it when it was released (honestly, my sister was a massive Jacko fan!). After a week or so of playing this utter dung, I took it back and swapped it for The Untouchables!

The game is typical of tie-ins of that era, it's made up of several levels- each of which are a different genre (e.g. gauntlet, operation wold etc), although as with so many of those games each of the levels are very poor.

Interesting 128k rendition of BAD, but it does get a bit annoying after a while!
