Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh!

The Toe Jam & Earl and Crash features are more than enough for me.

Love the big TJ&E piccies and the B&W Crash style pages.

If there's anything else in the mag at all it'll just be a lovely bonus.

EDIT: I forgot about the PS1 Retroinspection too!

Lovely weekend's reading ahead.

Like Darran says in the tube: See it as a x-mass present... Well, it seems to be!!

Just seen the preview, looks very good, shame about the Xmas cover though.

Cant wait to see the Crash feature, love the black and white look, not bothered about the SID feature myself. The DOS one looks great though

Hopefully should get it today or tomorrow

Nice to see all the mini bios I wrote for the SID piece have made it in. Looking forward to seeing the article in the flesh—and I think a few of the people within said article will surprise long-time SID fans!

I had a quick view of the YT Vid without any sound, and it looks great. The SID feature is the highlight, but there's also Jeff Minter, AfterBurner, Crash, the Playstation, Ram Jam should be interesting, Peter M., and several other smaller articles.

The only thing I was a bit disappointed by was the cover, but you can't have everything.

Excellent stuff.

I think its a great cover - but something Christmas would have been nice.
If this had been another month I think the Playstation should have been on the cover.

I'm only a little disappointed. It's a nice cover, but I would have liked a bit of snow or tinsel on it :)

I'm sad to say it but we've gone from the sublime to the ridiculous. Last month's was the best cover ever and one of the best issues. I was hugely looking forward to the December edition, expecting a festive tint like last year. Instead this month's issue has appeared to completely ignore the fact that Christmas is coming up. I know it shouldn't but it actually for the moment detracts from any other content in the magazine.

Talk about an own goal. A real pity and an opportunity missed. Probably won't buy it.

Me too - could have at least had Cliff Richard being sucked into the jet engine!!

I think thats a bit of an over-reaction mate - remember, sometimes and ugly bird can turn out to be a right good laugh and a tiger between the sheets

Er, OK. Bear in mind that the magazine is basically full of stuff commissioned specifically due to reader demand. As Darran said on YouTube, the entire magazine this month could be seen as a Christmas gift to the readers. As for the cover, while I understand some people are disappointed, the commercial reality is that After Burner is a heavy hitter and so that cover is likely to sell a whole lot better than a festive one. That said, Darran and Stu have festive hats on page 3, although none of the freelancers do. Those stingy Imagine in-house staffers, not sharing the (illustrated) Christmas hats! *huffs*

Just out of interest Craig, do you think that a Playstation cover would have been more or less a heavy hitter than Afterburner? Personally, I think it would be more!

Isn't there some sort of saying warning against forming an opinion of a publication based solely upon an aspect of the outside of it regardless of the content inside.

I'm sure it'll come to me.

Seriously though, that wee Youtube clip (sans sound) has made me look forward to the mag more than any issue to date, it better arrive tomorrow!
