C64 rare and valuable games

The obvious one is Ocean's version of Double Dragon on cartridge.

How about carts in general? I cant imagine large numbers of carts doing the rounds, especially after the GS belly flop.

I've got 3 of them - Battle Command, Myth and the with International Soccer, Flimbo's Quest, Klax and Fiendish Freddy on one cart.

I've got 3 of them - Battle Command, Myth and the with International Soccer, Flimbo's Quest, Klax and Fiendish Freddy on one cart.

The first two are fairly rare, I have Battle Command myself (ordered it direct from Ocean). There's more than 20,000 copies of the four-game cart in circulation; it was also sold with a pack of the Annihilator joystick with the extra fire button for GS games.

What about Great Giana Sisters?

It's not that rare, but people will pay a fair amount for it - £50+ for tape, more for disk. I have a tape, and was very lucky to get it - I actually bought it in an independent software shop about 2-3 years after it had been withdrawn from sale, and it only cost me £7...

On a rarity scale of 1-10, Battle Command is around a 3, and Myth is around 5. Uncommon at most in the scheme of things, just the System 3 carts for whatever reason have ramped in value in the last couple of years. There are probably more than 20,000 of those 4-in-1 carts about as well; aside from being included in the GS package, they were then included in other normal C64 bundles afterwards.

Always remember kiddies that rare doesn't always mean valuable, and valuable doesn't always mean rare...

A complete disk version of C64 Little Computer People used to command stupid prices on Ebay. Perhaps it still does. Is it a valuable rarity or was it just greedy Ebayers!?

Greedy ebayers? How did you work that out? People wanted it, they paid what they were prepared to pay. That's hardly greed at work.

I do wonder about thinning out some of my things. I like the idea of giving others here a good deal, but there are some things I just think I should ebay as a 'what if'. Might make some money, might only get a couple of quid. But if I set a price I want and somebody pays it, that's not me being greedy, just good sense. Money is tight.

I'm not talking about people bidding an item up to a final price.

Greedy Ebay seller = someone I believe is asking way too much for an item they think someone might be foolish enough to buy. You've never scoffed at a price on Ebay and moved on then? Case in point is Little Computer People on disk with a BIN price of £150. I personally think that was too high a price and seeing as the item remained on the sellers list whenever I searched so did anyone else who looked. If some happy punter put in a bid of £150 and won then so be it.

Ocean's Double Dragon cart is a new game, not the same as the one published by Melbourne House. Still just as rubbish though...
