Retro Rated hasn't changed in size since issue 64. It's still just 5 pages and always will be.

I know the argument has been done to death regarding new vs old, but it seems that coverage of new games for this gen of consoles with the slightest connection to a 'retro' game are insidiously expanding month by month...

Hi all! I'm new around here. I've just registered, mainly to ask a question, if you don't mind.
With regard to the first letter in this month's (83) issue, the reply says "But the best part of all, though, was when you embarrassed yourself beyond riposte by suggesting that OutRun 2 is a game by Yu Suzuki".
When I read this, I had to immediately read it again to make sure I hadn't misunderstood. It had always been my understanding that OutRun 2 was a Yu Suzuki game. So, I went straight to Wikipedia. According to this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yu_Suzuki#List_of_major_works, OutRun 2 is indeed a Yu Suzuki game. As we all know, Wikipedia isn't necessarily always correct, so I searched a little further. On sega-16.com, OutRun 2 is again listed in his gameography: http://www.sega-16.com/feature_page.php?id=31&title=Sega%20Stars:%20Yu%20Suzuki. I still wasn't 100% satisfied, and was surprised to discover that Yu Suzuki has an entry on IMDB. His IMDB page lists him as both the Director, and the Producer of OutRun 2: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0962779/.
I am now convinced that OutRun 2 is indeed a Yu Suzuki game. But, at the same time, I find it odd that Retro Gamer would make such a mistake. What gives?
I love the mag by the way. I'm a Sega fan at heart, and a huge fan of the works of Yu Suzuki. I know you guys have been trying to get an interview with him for a while, and I'm not giving up hope yet!
I do miss "Why you must play" though. Any chance of it returning to the mag?

I'm gonna stick my neck out here and theorise the distinction is between being merely director/producer on the game and not being part of the actual design team. Yu Suzuki was definitely designer on Space Harrier and Outrun for example. He wasn't for Outrun 2, that was as noted Hiroshi Masui.

Also not in any whsmiths in my area, I've tried 4, one still had the mario issue today! I guess this is the end for me and retro gamer as I've never found another stockist.

Im pretty sure RG has already interviewed him - for the Outrun 'Making of' in issue 54.

At one point, the Marble Madness and Defender articles were over half paraphrased lifts from RG articles I wrote (with citations aplenty, obviously, which Wikipedia—wrongly—would argue is fair use). Rather bizarrely, the Super Sprint article still argues that game has an ending (something repeated in RG recently, unless I'm going bonkers, so someone at RG Towers uses Wikipedia!) Robert Weatherby's response to me (included in the RG making-of) about that nugget of info was that he had absolutely no idea where it came from and that it's garbage.

Great that RG mentioned Heimdall. I know it is a bit of an obscure game, but I always loved the Amiga version.

Ah, I didn't know this. I've only been buying the mag since issue 69. I'll have to hunt a copy down on ebay. Thanks for the info!
