Is the zapper any good? Or is it just a crappy piece of plastic?? I was tempted to get it with the Zelda crossbow training, then I couldn't be bothered! Does it make any difference? I quite like RE Umbrella, and am tempted to get a couple more shooters.

Essentially, the Wii Zapper is just a plastic shell. The upshot of this is that anyone with an injection moulding machine can make something similar and sell it for less - I have four guns for my Wii and paid a grand total of a pound each.

Do they make a difference? Hell yeah - Ghost Squad really feels so much cooler and more immersive when you're charging round the living room with a placcy gun in your hands than when you're just using the stanard remote.

The Wii Zapper is actually quite rubbish, the way you naturally hold it is with your left hand on the trigger, it also gives me bad cramps after an hour or so of play. You'd be better off with an unofficial/3rd party one.

Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles is a million miles better than Umbrella though :D I can't recommend it enough!

I've gone for we love golf - no thanks to you lot  The chun-li costume sold it, I'll report back on what its like if there are any more anime golf fans around, if not I'll report back anyway :)

I couldn't really help you with that sort of golf game, but Tiger Woods 10/11 is good with Motion Plus and the golf game on Wii Sports Resort is also a highly competent effort. It's arguably got the better controls, although you do only get the one course.

As for the Zapper, I'd agree that it's superfluous. At least I haven't found a rail shooter that I couldn't finish just by using the Wiimote yet.

I was sold when I saw a Morrigan costume but I think it's only unlockable by winning so many online matches - really hard when nobody bothers with the game online. Bah.

I had the Zapper/Link's Crossbow Training boxset but sold it on here ages ago. THIS is much cooler (no way am I selling this!).

We Love Golf is a bloody fantastic game. If only Camelot had been able to put the Mario cast in it - then it might have sold the number of copies I feel it deserved to.

That looks great! Why is it £55 on play.com but a tenner on amazon?? What's going on there?

Cool, i'll pick that up. I thought I'd read it wasn't as good. I'm happy with any zombie games though. I just don't really like using the remote to aim. Maybe it's just my lack of skills.

No idea but it was £15 when it launched. If I remember rightly, it was slightly cheaper if you bought it with the game. The US got a huge pack which included the game and two handcannons!

I enjoyed toadstool tour on GC but maybe the game will benefit from not having mario in, there's only so many times you can see mario as the all rounder, donkey kong as strong shot but wayward, peach controlled but weak etc.

Picked up mario strikers cheap today, getting prepared for xmas party games.

The original Wii Zapper is alright but severely lacking... What you want is the Buckshot, it has an integrated analog controller into it so all you gotta do is put in the wiimote.

Blimey, another one! There are quite a few out there - the zapper, the venom light blaster, the Nyko perfect shot, the handcannon, the buckshot. And different games seem to react better/worse to different guns.
I really don’t like using the remote, so I’ll probably go for the handcannon and hope for the best. I might get the Nyko as well later on.

I absolutely loved Toadstool Tour. Wonderful game indeed. Up there with Everybody's Golf (PSP & PS3) & Mario Golf Advance Tour (GBA) as my favourite sports games.

Anyone had any issues with a noisy Wii disk drive?

A few days ago I was going online with either TvsC or SSBB, can't remember which and my wii suddenly made this loud vibrating sound which eventually died down abit, but I had to take the disc out to stop it completely. It still happens now and again when you insert a disk albeit not as loud, though the Wii does seems to hum a little louder since, especially with Metroid Prime 3 where the humming is loudest and a bit eratic.

After searching a bit online I found this is quite common with MP3. Also I've seen youtube "fixes" involving tightening/loosening some of the disk drive screws. Anyone had a go at this? My wii is old and out of warranty so I might as well have a go before sending it to nintendo for reapir (if it needs it).
