I've seen mail order companies list many things in the past mate without there being solid evidence behind it heh... the only way I'd ever believe it is if someone hands me a proper, real cartridge of the thing to play ;)

Or in a nutshell, the mail order firms would have gotten release lists from their distributors and advertised as such, before actually receiving stock for said items. Then when certain games aren't present, they quietly disappear from the next adverts... plus the fact as you know regarding time advancement for our articles, adverts would have to be placed 2-3 months in advance of a specific issue hitting the stands...

If you look on eBay Germany enough, then you'll find copies popping up. I've got one in my collection... unlike Great Giana Sisters though, it definitely got nixxed before making it to the UK, so there are only German copies to find.

I've got a copy of Fire Zone on C64, and can find no info on it, bar some for the Amiga version. Is it worth anything at all?

same site had that for £45, but i think it was out of stock. quite how it's "out of stock" for something retro and collectible, unless they have bought one from ebay that hasn't turned up or something, i don't know...! :|

I've got the Ocean 'Batman: The Movie' - cartridge, remember it cost a lot of my Birthday money back then, but the brilliance of not having to wait for a an age for a game to load, priceless.

Swings and roundabouts... the English version of Elvira II is flipping rare. I got my original from Merman a few years back, and I know a couple of other people with it. That's it. There was an auction on eBay not so long ago for both RPG disk games and ended on 65 quid. So... the Retrogames listing probably is over priced, but unlike many of its games, not stupidly so.

How about Castlevania and Metal Gear Solid, weren't they both officially released on the c.64? They must be worth something.

They are not extremely rare, but they do go for decent money. I've seen both exceed $150 in the past. I actually have a spare CIB Metal Gear currently, probably asking about 75 quid for it ;)
