Poll - Do you play new releases?

Postby Stuart@retrogamer on Tue Jan 25, 2011 3:02 pm

Hi guys,

We've been asked to conduct a quick research poll to find out how many of our readers own current gen consoles and play modern releases.

If you could take the time to let us know it would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Stu

Most of us are gamers who still enjoy retro, rather than specifically retro gamers

Have always owned current gen consoles, and probably play my 360 more than anything else currently - but please tell me this isn't speculative research for a current gen section in the mag.

Yes and no.

I own and play all of the current gen systems, but never play the 'latest releases' the poll is asking about, I always wait a month or two for the price to drop. If its a good game new, it'll still be a good game in a month and I'm not exactly short of back catalogue games to play.

I assume the poll is more referring to 'do you play current gen games?' rather than 'do you buy games as soon as they are released?'.

Modern games and retro are not mutually exclusive, I enjoy both.

I used to. I stopped with this gen, although I'm very interested in getting the Wii still.

Sums it up perfectly mate, I love gaming and have done since the Atari days of the late seventies (yes I am that old) I have owned virtually every home system ever released at some stage or another. I currently play my gaming on a Xbox 360 and a ps3, I don't play retro games as much as I used to but still love Retro Gaming

Don't play them much at all, and I have very little interest in them - but then I've always tended to be a generation or two behind - It's mainly a matter of cost.

Yes, I play both. Don't tend to buy games brand new as they're too expensive, but I own plenty of 360 games and really enjoy it as a console.
