Even though I've had my issue for a few days (subscriber) I've only just started to read it, and I must say, it's a superb issue. What really stood out for me were the Mikro-gen feature, The Making of Zub, and the Making of Druid. Everything else was tops too.

...not too sure about Mayhem's (Matt) fluffy beard! Maybe it's the Doctor David Bellamy retro look ;)

Mag arrived (unlike issue 85), and for once the front looks as good in your hand as on picture(ok, YouTube). Really striking and standout.

Just had a quick flip through it, but had to read the isometric feature before putting it away. Very good read.

ChipTune wrote:The two things I would say as constructive feedback though are.. firstly, get rid of the letters page, it really is pointless and amounts to brown nosing the mag followed by some pointless question or statement.. Its about as good a use of space as the awful t-shirt ads at the back..

apart from that.. wicked stuff! keep up the good work

Get rid of the letters page and you risk RG looking less human and less community-centric. I love the fact that a good deal of the magazine has a sort of interaction with the readers, comments printed on pages, the whole question from the forum etc etc, letters are another part of that and give the community and readers a place to ask or state specific things and have a space all to themselves. Don't think it's a bad thing really, do enjoy reading the letters now and again.

It's a collector's guide to the system, designed to highlight the machine from a collecting point of view and it's been partly written by the guys at RetroCollect. It's very pictorial based, highlights why the machine is desirable to collect for and features lots of interesting games covering imports, rare titles and essentials. We're still working on it at the mo, but it's shaping up nicely and is a massive departure from the original retroinspections.

Yup! Expect something special here guys. We're going all out in this one 8)

Glad to see the C64 Turbo Outrun is the best conversion. I can remember taking it a while to load though!

Quite possibly, as I have a lot of Saturn stuff.
I do want to maybe do a spectrum or C64 piece, but it could proove tricky. In fact, I think that consoles tend to have far more collectibility to them than computers.

Really good issue, as was last month's. Only real criticism for either issue is that some of the articles felt like they could've been a page or two longer, but I understand that there are always practical limitations in the world of publishing. ;) Anyway, good work.

Hmm, never owned or played on one past the Atari 2600, home computers were definitely where it was at 'round our way when we were growing up

Same here, apart from the 3 Playstations I have. I'm sat next to 5 retro computers, and I've never wanted to collect consoles apart from maybe getting a VCS ('cause I had one). I'd rather get a BBC, Electron, PET, etc first, as you can switch them on and play/program with them. A console is just a box you put discs in and play pre-written stuff on. I much prefer computers, as they have a "personality" (apart from PCs which I don't think have one at all, though many would disagree).
