Eurocon 2011
Hamburg
September 23 to September 25
20 Euros
http://www.eurocon.info/

PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE FLIGHTS AND ACCOMMODATION. I REPEAT IT DOES NOT INCLUDE FLIGHTS AND ACCOMMODATION. IF YOU THINK THIS INCLUDES FLIGHTS AND ACCOMMODATION THIS IS NOT THE EVENT FOR YOU, AND SUGGEST YOU FIND A DIFFERENT EVENT.

Erm. Don't think flights and accommodation are ever included in retro gaming events admission prices :?

Look at your original post & does it look like everything included especially for newer members haven't been to these events before!

No cos if it included hotels and flights I would have mentioned it. You would have to be pretty stupid to think that 20 euros included flights from anywhere in the world and hotel accommodation. Then again the Eurocon website is also pretty vague just mentioning "the price is 20 Euros for the whole weekend." Have they had anyone contact them asking if the flights and hotel were included at that price.... Perhaps it actually does include Flights and Hotel?

Then again we mentioned that there would be free cake at RV last year, but the cake was a lie.

Ha ha come on ! If someone read that original post and honestly thought flights/hotels were included for 20 euros then theyve got a fair few screws loose !

Two more:

Retro Arcade 2 Megablast at The Forum in Norwich

10AM to 5PM
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=27654&p=626638

8BIT Lounge - console fun and cheeky tunes

Birmingham, United Kingdom
http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?ei ... 9925651794
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=26464&p=597845

The URL for Pure Machine Code is also wrong pointing to an old thread. it should be viewtopic.php?f=6&t=27467&p=622947 and http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=154673154590796

Would be good if these events I have been listing could be moved to the front page before they happen, unless there is now just a preference of CGEU related events being listed there? Or perhaps if Dave does not have time to update it one of the Admins could?

Er, not at all! :?

Will update the front page now. Cheers for continuing to sniff the shows out ... I'll check this thread more often from now on, promise! ;)

P.S. Did you get my reply to your text last week? Give us a call when you can, matey.

I think that was a pretty unnecessary statement, but if something is missed just PM a mod and one of us will update it (or contact Dave direct with it being a thread he is maintaining). We (well me at least) don't have the time or inclination to check every thread to see if a post has been missed!

More just an observation that there are 3 unconfirmed/websiteless CGEU events listed, and those I am mentioning as confirmed that are non CGEU seem to be taking some time to be added... Infact two I mentioned have still not yet been added or mentioned. Its useful just to have everything on that first page in order to refer to.

Like I say, instead of saying '3 of those I mentioned' are still not there (which is very negative language), you would get a better response if you pm'd one of the mods or Dave. Of course CGEU ones will be up there as I am a mod and know about all of those and Dave is as good as the CGEU chairman! But this is the RG forum and not the CGEU so there is no bias or special treatment.

I try and use a consistent format to list events on the first post, to aid readability.

However this can be quite time consuming, especially if several events need to be added at once. Therefore, when posting info about new events, if Steve (and maybe others too) could use the exact same format outlined below, then it will no-doubt make it a lot quicker/easier for me to keep the master list up-to-date (as I can simply cut n' paste).

Title of event
Venue, Town, Day xxth Month Year
Homepage: http://www.eventhomepage.co.uk
RG Forum Thread: viewtopic.php?f=x&t=xxxxx
Scale: xx

I don't intend to keep the first post updated with details of the monthly events (i.e. the two Manchester pub meets) because life's too short. Though obviously I do reference them.
