Wrestlemania - The Arcade Game

Very nice collection you have, never played this version though. Any good?

Thanks!
I think it's great, but I haven't played it on any other systems.
I haven't played many wrestling games, so I can only compare it to Super Wrestlemania,
and that's crap in comparison.

Like a few people I also have a smallish collection, I do have a japanese and a UK snes though. The games I have are.

UK - Unboxed
Killer Instinct
Williams Arcade Hits
Star Wing
Super Mario All Stars * 2
Super Aleste * 2, I really do need to pay more attention to what games I own.

Boxed
Earth Defence Force
Unirally
Phalanx

American - Boxed
Gradius 3

Unboxed
Streetfighter 2
Streetfighter 2 Turbo
Pit Fighter

Japanese - Boxed
Caravan Shooting Collection
Super Fire Pro Wrestling
Super Fire Pro Wrestling 2
Super Fire Pro Wrestling 3
Super Fire Pro Wrestling X

Unboxed
I have 4 unboxed games but I have absolutely no idea what they are, I've not even put them on to try them out yet, one has Kirby on the front, one looks like a Ranma game, one has a picture of the Pink Panther wearing boxing gloves on and the last gives me the impression that it's a run and gun type game.

I also have an Action Replay and a Super Game Boy.

I haven't got the largest amount of games, but I do have:-

I think you have a quality selection overall. It may not be large compared to other machines, but it can be expensive to amass a collection like that. :D

Cheers dude. The thing with my SNES games is that it's not a 'collection' as such...nearly all of those were bought by me brand new at the time (or picked up dirt cheap before the likes of Ebay had been invented) and I've just kept them ever since because there's a fair few of them that I keep going back to. There are obviously other games I'd like, but I've got nearly all the main games I'm interested in....as you know with me, I'm not really a completist (only for PAL Sega Saturn games as/when I can get hold of them), I've just always gone for what I believe the best stuff is. The only SNES games I can remember buying in the last 10 years are Mr Nutz (lent it off a mate at school years ago and completely fell in love with the soundtrack, the game's pretty good also) and Sparkster, because I got lucky and won the loose cart for £3. Oh, and my copy of Looney Tunes: Road Runner came from Guybrush when I bought the mystery box from him off here last year.

Also noticed that Aztecca's selling a boxed Tiny Toons: Buster Busts Loose which I've said I'll take if nobody else has nabbed it. Wouldn't mind playing that again. :)

Just going to trim the collection down a bit. I sold my original Snes collection back when the PS1 came out in 95 and regretted it then so will be careful what i sell now.

My SNES collection isn't that big, and it's all unboxed and PAL (you can see it if you click on my RetroCollect banner, then filter). SF Alpha 2 was my best find, only paid £3.49!

What gets me is that unlike the MD, you just can't pick up even the most popular games that cheap. That's why I use BSNES.

SNES games have seen an incredible rise in value/cost over the last few years. Not 100% sure on the reason why it's mainly SNES leading the price race though...

Indeed, I have the PS1 version and it is a lot of fun. Super WM was decent for its time, but very slow and dated now.

I wish I had kept my stuff. It wasn't my original PAL stuff, can't remember when I sold that tbh, the PS1 took over in 1995. But I picked my US SNES up in 1999 for a stupid price. Unboxed machine, RGB modded, boxed Axelay JP, Mario Kart US, Secret of Mana, Mario World and it cost me just £15. I made a huge profit on the machine though, around 400ish I would say.

People often talk about the need to have material items, but there is something about keeping old videogames, and perhaps movies or books that appeals.

The Snes is my all time fav, I had one back in the day, remember going to one of entertainment shows in London and playing Starwing, and Dexter Fletcher did somesort of SF2:Turbo tournament on the main stage. I worked at WH Smith at the time as a saturday kid and had 25% discount, I remember going straight there after the show and buying the Starwing Snes Set. Sadly I ended up selling my collection for a Reading Festival 95 ticket. But roll on to 2000, I went to a jumble sale, they had a box of consoles and games, asked how much they were, the lady said £5 I said for which ones, she said the whole lot. Got it home and my love for the snes was reborn. Since then I've gradually bought games here and there, foolishly selling some of the more pricey ones when times got hard (like Final Fight Guy, Final Fight 3, Street Fighter Alpha 2) It does shock me how much some of the games go for now, particularly boxed.

I had been going for just my favs, but have recently started buying any game I just don't have, I now have over 200 games, 2 thirds of that is boxed, plus full runs of various magazines from that period, books etc.

I have a modded console to play 50/60hz region free etc, so region does not bother me so much now and pick up anything USA/UK/JAP.

I still need to do a proper games audit on the collection, but here is a 90% list of what I have....

Pinball Dreams and Pinball Fantasies came out on the SNES!?!? Loved these on the Amiga!
I still haven't searched for a complete list of SNES releases, so I keep getting pleasantly surprised! :D

There is a wealth of hidden gems on the SNES. In particular I'd love to point out Dino City, Ardy Lightfoot and Super Widget. All great platformers that usually get lost in the praise in which Super Mario World receives.

i own a small collection of around 30 snes games, most of them are my originals that i bought back in the 90s although i have added a few to the collection over the past couple of years.

got it listed over on retro collect
http://www.retrocollect.com/search/show ... platform=1

i do love the snes hardware, controllers, carts ect but iv got it all stored away tho as i mainly play snes stuff through my modded wii as the emulation is just spot on :D
