The Rome table is class, but I find it to be really difficult to get a good score. Any tips? - I can never work out the bit where you have to launch balls across the table to sink the ship, it seems random whether they hit or not.

Dunno, I've never noticed them miss TBH. You do have to activate the catapult section about 4 times before it sinks the ship though.

It's not random.
There's a light on the catapult (you've probably noticed it). Shoot when the light is red for a hit. If you shoot when it's yellow you miss.

Rome is my least favourite table out of the new FX2 tables. Least favourite of all is that hip-hop thing that was imported from the original FX.

Looks like the next tourney is going to be the new Mars table. I've only had a couple of goes on it and hit 45 million so it looks like it's a high scoring table. Hope it's not as mental as Rocky & Bullwinkle was before it was nerfed. Cool looking table though. Lots of stuff flying about. Just what I like in a PFX2 table. You just can't have enough bonkers stuff going on IMO.

Bit late to the Pinball FX party, but having a great time so far. Only got the basic tables that come with the game, played a few trial ones, but is there any that are not worth getting? Don't want to spend points on crappy tables....didn't really like to Street Fighter one.

The pack of original tables and I'm also not a fan of the Street Fighter or Rocky and Bullwinkle tables.

Personal faves are Spiderman, Blade, Mars and Earth Defense.

Buccaneer table is seriously moo IMO. Absolutely the last table you should ever buy.

The tables in the core pack from the original FX (Extreme, Speed Machine and Agents) just aren't as good as the new tables. Agents is the only table worth a play but, again, buy these only when you've got the new tables and are desperate for something different.

Street Fighter II and Rocky & Bullwinkle could be classed as "hard" tables. You really get nowhere on them unless you trigger the modes and multiballs all the time.

Favourite tables of mine, and this is about playing rather than scoring: Bio-Lab, Pasha, Secrets Of The Deep, Wolverine, Spiderman, Excalibur, Earth Defense and Mars.

It's such a shame that one of my friends is so good at this game I don't stand a hope in hell of ever getting close to his crazy scores. I like the way the game keeps reminding me how crap I am too. I've bought quite a few of the tables on this game but not one has really grabbed me, I quite like the Agents table from the original game though. Think I'll stick to Metroid Prime Pinball on DS, it's the best pinball game I've played.

Definite buy for me. But then I suppose I'll be buying any table that comes out for FX2 tbh. Over on the Zen forums one of the mods said there's at least ten more tables in the current schedule. Fantastic Four is out May 18th but we might get Paranormal before then, another table ported over from the PS3 version like Mars was.

Mars tournament tomorrow. Be there or be square. After that I feel I must take down FatTrucker's Spidey score. And try to make some sort of sense of the Blade table. Night, day, night, day, wtf? And what's the compass do? I aim to find out. One lucky ball is all it takes.

If you're talking about the day/night compass on the left, when its open if you hold down the launch button it will fast track day>night or night>day, handy since the games and bonuses are completely different dependent on if its in the day or night cycle.

Had a few goes on Mars but not played since, will probably put some serious time into it at the weekend. Any new tables = win. I'm pretty much the same and will be unlocking any new ones as they become available.

I don't know what any of that means. But it excites me.

I see much potential for getting lots of that spooky multiball where the balls are all glowing in the dark after fatboy bloke comes out of his hole and stuff.

Crunchy I can't believe you beat my Iron Man score it took my along time to get that :(

Have you ever been able to do the Vortex beam boss battle on that? Keeping 6 balls on the go is really hard.

I don't think I've even seen a Vortex boss battle on there, let alone completed it.
I've hardly played Iron Man. I saw your score was higher than mine and popped on to beat it. Took about three or four plays and I just slotted Whiplash and that other guy a couple of times or something. Didn't see a single multiball as I recall. It seems like a really low scoring table but I thought that about Rome and was completely wrong.

When it comes to the old Pinball FX2 all our scores on all the tables are gloriously mediocre. You only have to look at our Achievements. None of us are exactly Mode Completion Masters when you get right down to it.
My score on Rome can be absolutely blown out of the water just by completing one Minotaur multiball, for instance. Funny as fook.

I can honestly say that Pinball FX2 is a game that I don't really want to get too good at. I could swot up on the tables and suchlike but I think the fun would go out of playing it tbh. I like just getting on a table and going at it like a mentard with no particular strategy. Great fun.
