The first time you get two rainbow powerups. This means you can fire three rainbows and send rainbow death down on all those cute insects.

Battling against Doh from Arkanoid. He's pretty far in the game, but when I first reached him I was pleasantly surprised. I'm a sucker for a good cameo appearance!!

Getting the four rainbow power up. Then realiasing it's useless because they vanish so quickly. I still get a kick out of getting the diamonds in the correct order and getting into the secret rooms as well.

For me (as an avid horror fan) the best moment was getting to monster island.

I always preferred Parasol Stars. I wish I never threw it out now as it's worth a fair bit

Rainbow Islands just isn't that good a game, and hasn't aged that well either. Looked and sounded nice though, but Bubble Bobble and Parasol Stars were always better imo.

you know i never actualy liked this game! i remember it getting all hyped up by everybody becouse it was "BUBBLE BOBBLE 2" but it was nothing like bubble bobble, and in my oppinion, rubbish! [ducks]

Far too many great moments to list in one of my top 10 games of all time.

I submitted a top score to zzap 64 at the time, good old days. now i get to play the arcade machine any time i like on my cab. Gaming perfection.

My best moment was first playing it on the spectrum - never found it in our local arcades so didnt know of it.

Now I still love the game and happily play my MD cart frequently although I do emu the spec version every now and then too.

Have never managed to get the diamonds in order EVER (obviously apart from the big ones to unlock the 'extra' worlds) so have never seen the hidden bits.
