In London for the Eurogamer :D anyone know if there's a decent arcade or retro store around the Earl's Court area?

If you head to Leicester Square station, and then head towards Soho you'd find Vegas Arcade. They have some of what was in Trocadero.

Also right by Goodge Street station is Casino arcade, where all the fighters are and some shmups. Head downstairs there.

Keep going up that road and head right and you'll find Game Focus which has some nice stuff in it, some stuff a bit pricey though.

Take my word for it and DON'T go anywhere near the Namco Station in County Hall.

Three stories of gambling, hideously overpriced drink, the shittiest bowling alley and dodgems imaginable, and you can't move or breathe for all the screaming Spanish exchange students crammed in there 24/7..

It would be just about bearable if there were actually some Namco machines in there, but no, ALL the games are the standard dated Sega fare you'd find in any arcade..

I was in London over the weekend and popped into Game Focus. It's a nice store, overall. They have tons of NTSC PS2 games, which is a shame as I only have a PAL system. Otherwise, there was some interesting japanese retro stuff (PSX, Neo Geo Cd, Saturn) and a few other retro odds and ends. Not a massive selection, but interesting.

The guy working there was really chatty. There's loads of retro stuff in the back, so it's worth asking if you're after something in particular. They didn't have any US SNES games though. I ended up buying Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox and Silent Hill on PS1.

Well worth a visit. Thanks for the heads up, speedlolita.

No problem.

Game Focus was closed for a few months so I had assumed they had gone bust. Guess I was wrong!
