Stupidity knows no bounds I guess

'Computer games' is colloquially synymous with 'video games'. The term 'video game' is defined as encompassing anything that can be played on home personal computers or home consoles, so it follows suit that 'computer games' can share that definition. Furthermore, it could be argued that 'video game' was originally an American term, whereas 'computer game' was a British one, both meaning essentially the same thing.

There, we can all be pedants! If the OP wants this thread to only be concerned with PC games, then he can specify.

My heart immediately sunk when I realised that I had left that game off my list.

argh - forgot Thunderforce :( doh! Well Thunderforce is so good it's not even in my lists, it's just default top of everything. Even above eating and drinking. :)

Thunder force 3 and 4 are great, but 5? Really?
I played it a bit on the Saturn last week and its definitely not as good.

Also if Jagfest had read the OPs own choices he would have seen that they were all console titles.

I will put 5 up but it is so hard to pick a list.

Final Fantasy XII
Ridge Racer V
Super Street Fighter II (snes version)
Legend of Zelda Links Awakening
F-Zero (snes)

It is. In fact personally I would put 5 above 3 and 3 in terms of the gameplay and level designs. 3 is my fave for Nostalgia reasons though.
The problem is the 2D graphics of 3 and 4 haven't aged as much as the 3D graphics in 5. The music on 5 is the ultimate.

My list:

1. Zak McKracken (Commodore 64) - The Amiga and PC version have better graphics but I prefer playing it on my C64.
2. Deadly Premonition (X-Box 360) - I got so hooked on this game. Really looking forward to the sequel/prequel that Sweary announced recently.
3. Nebulus (Commodore 64) - Clever combination of puzzle and platforming.
4. Vice City (X-Box) - The 80s rule!
5. Mountie Mick's Death Ride (Commodore 64) - Fun and addictive.
Ken sent me.

Great choice! Don't see that quality piece mentioned very often. As for my choices:

Quazatron
Monty On The Run
Sensible World Of Soccer
Battle Isle
Twin Cobra

Vulcan just misses the cut, as do Biomechanical Toy, Rebelstar Raiders, Speedball 2, Outrun, Green Beret, Cannon Fodder and Paradroid; some due to likeness with the chosen five, others just because I wanted some variation in my choices for a change!

Good to see Battle Isle in your list too. That's a great series of strategy games.
