Hoping there will be more. Printer companies are a mine field  if I can get more printed in future then I will but for now I'd try and grab a copy at Replay.

I'll hold on for a hard copy. I don't want to spoil it by reading the .pdf! I don't mind paying twice as much, either. I'll pay an extra two quid to be able to read it comfortably in bed.

Will happily post a copy on if there's any left after Replay :) We aren't affiliated with Replay in anyway in case anyone's wondering!

ChipTune wrote:Ah well.. the mag seemed quite good, although the homebew section didnt really rate the games very well.. they should have had a score.. Wraith is rubbish.. but no mention of Battle Kid, Bat Puncher or some of the other much better homebrew games..

Thought you might have something to say on that section. :D

In all seriousness though, the article wasn't really a review section but more of a what is out there style article that tried to show different styles of games available.

If I had written reviews I would have added scores and the writing would have been different as in my opinion some of the games on there do deserve to be avoided.

Why do reviews need scores?. Read the review, play the games if they sound like your thing, make up your own mind.

Or just adopt the One Life Left scoring policy: 7/10.

This is why I never bother with scores on the main site. You can always tell by the way its reviewed if it's good, bad etc. Scores don't add much to them.

Just bought and downloading a copy! :D

You can add me to the list of people who'd be interested in an actual physical mag available to buy somewhere other than Replay too, though...as it's too costly and far away for me to get there! :(

Ooh, it just downloaded and I've had a quick scroll through...Mighty impressive stuff! Well done, chaps! :D

Its a great magazine and i'm really enjoying it, you can tell just how much hard work and passion has gone into the mag and i think it really has paid off, its opening my eye more to the NES to.
I think having the mag in PDF document format is a great move, one i need to do for my mags next issue. Its a format everyone can download and read through as every computer can read PDF document, so the potential for a big audience is right there, plus the price point is perfect.
What i would recommend is for people to read Nes-Bit on an Ereader, i am reading the mag on the kindle, its perfect for this kind of thing as it can read PDF documents, and it eliminates any eyestrain from staring at a monitor. I read the Sega Saturn magazines on the kindle, its such a perfect format for it, as long as you dont try to compress or convert the PDF into a smaller file or another file, its so crisp and clear, just put PDF as is straight onto the Kindle.

On the whole review score thing, i dont personally like review scores, i think gaming should get away from the review score thing, especially in light of Metacritic, where the mindset is that the end score is the most important thing in the world, review scores are ruining gaming. I didn't add scores to my reviews either, as i thought the review/writing spoke for itself, hence making scores pointless. Whats important should be the review, and the focus on the game and the writing, not the score imho.

Just had the first hard proof copy in the post today for approval and it looks fantastic. Real nice glossy look :D Printing will be happening shortly!

For those worrying about the curve this hasn't been stapled or pressed just for printing approval. It feels great, really pleased with it.
