Home Brew - don't mess with it!

Postby VinnyM on Tue Oct 11, 2011 8:30 am

Seriously... now you've got me worried. After seeing Darran's review of the new issue, I'm not too happy to hear that the Home Brew section is being changed. Can we have a little more info on what is going to happen with it? I hope you are not going to make it less pages. For me - there's not enough home brew info.

Please, please, PLEASE don't take it away :(

Change can be good. :D

He did say that he wasn't getting rid of it. To be honest even though it's one of my favourite parts of the magazine, it could do with a lick of paint to keep it fresh.

I love the fact that although by his own admission the editor has no interest in the subject he keeps it in the mag as he knows how passionate some are about it.

Yeah think it needs a lick of paint

The opening spread is excellent with the reviews etc on those 2 pages. I hardly ever read the page overleaf which often talks about Flash remakes and things like that, that never seems to interest me. Homebrew heroes is decent with an interview.

Just glad theyre keeping it, its vital for homebrew as i know a few people who love seeing their game reviewed in the mag.

Definately one of the first parts of the magazine I read, especially I am actively involved in the scene.

I've actually just started taking an interest in this section for the flash stuff. Free, legal games to download? Gimme the links. I can't be bothered trawling the internet for stuff like this so when the Homebrew section gives it's recommendations and a direct link to get the game, I like that.

I downloaded that Whiteman Commando Flash Conflict game from the last issue for example and it was a decent run and gunner considering it was free.

Homebrew isn't going anywhere.
This month we have a two page re-making of Dingo that replaces the second spread. Next month it will probably change again, until I'm happy with it.
