bit of necromancy because i didn't want to start a new thread.anyhoo just a heads up that Gundemonium recollection,Hitogata Happa and GundeadiGne are on steam £2.99 each or all three for £8.99
there doesn't seem to be a time limit at this price so they could drop in the future.

EDIT:there are demo's for each game also.

Would it be useful to keep this thread alive? The GoG thread is quite useful for flagging up bargains, but with Steam I log in every day, and I'm sure most other people do, so are there going to be many people unaware of what's on offer from one day to the next?

Today's not the best day for bargain hunting, I don't think: D&D Daggerdale is the current Midweek Madness offer, going for a fiver. Judging by the reviews it has had, that's about five quid too steep. Anyone care to stick up for it?

Daily Deal is Rift for a fiver, although there will be a subscription to pay after your one-month trial. They were handing out copies of Rift for free at the Eurogamer Expo at the weekend. I was stood in the PSVita queue for flippin' ages* and one of the ladies promoting Rift kept coming over and hollering out to all and sundry that if you were capable of providing your name, e-mail address and name, you'd become the proud owner of a free copy.

* And by ages, I mean long enough to go from playing Gradius Gaiden on the PSP to breaking out FF4 while I was waiting.

It's a randomised Zelda-esque game.

Yes. I sometimes forget to check Steam, or don't realise what I'm actually missing (so many unheard of indie games on there).

To be honest though, as long as you participate in the two big annual steam sales (summer + christmas) you're fine. I hardly buy any games outside of those deals. I don't buy any game that costs more than 50% of its RRP as there's a 95% chance it'll show up in those sales for less. Only game I wasn't able to get for such a good price yet is Deathspank. I have about 20 titles on my wishlist but none of those were out by the last christmas sale. I'm sure I'll be able to buy them all except 1 or 2 in the upcoming sale.

Certainly there's nothing to match the summer and Christmas sales, but there have been a few really good bargains lately at the weekend, particularly with some of the publisher catalogue discounts recently. Had I remembered this thread existed I would have posted about last weekend's Sega catalogue deal. Most of this was Megadrive games, but there was also the Dreamcast Collection for £3.75 and Alpha Protocol for £1.50. Alpha Protocol is quite possibly the best use of £1.50 since you were at school and you exchanged your dinner money for your first ever grope of boob, behind the bike shed.*

Anyway, on from such fanciful reminiscences to the current deals:

Blood Bowl: Legendary Edition for £6 (-80%) looks the best of the current Weekend Deals. The legendary edition contains 20 races (apparently 11 are "new", which presumably means exclusive to the Legendary Edition).
Dungeon Siege 3 is half price for the weekend, but this still means a price tag of £15 and you're quite likely to be able to pick up a physical copy for less than that. It's a Steamworks game as well so getting the physical copy will automatically entitle you to downloadable copies via Steam.
Also there's PAM (Post-Apocalyptic Mayhem) which is an action-heavy racing game which is free for the weekend or £2.99 to keep 4eva, like. Doesn't look as though the reviews were particularly favourable but who knows, it might be worth it at that price.

* I never actually did this.

It's a week of THQ bargains. There's a pack of 15 games for £35 including the recent Red Faction: Armageddon and Homefront, plus a big discount on one of the games every day. Today it's the turn of Metro 2033 for £3.74. It does need quite a decent PC, but if you've got one it' pretty decent value!

Today: Titan Quest Gold for £2.50, well worth it if you like dungeon crawlers.

Also, Duke Nukem Forever puts in an appearance in Midweek Madness already - down to £7.50.

Steam have a Halloween sale on, until 31st October (obviously).

There are a couple of dozen games on sale, with the likes of Left 4 Dead, the two Bioshocks, the Dead Space games, Resi Evil 5, Overlord 1 & 2, DMC 3 & 4, Ghostbusters (and Sanctum of Slime), Dead Island, Plants vs Zombies GOTY, Borderlands GOTY, Stalker Bundle (Pripyat & Chernobyl), FEAR 3, Silent Hill Homecoming, Dungeons, SAW, Zombie Shooter 1 & 2, Zombie Driver. There's also a pack for Train Simulator 2012 (aka Railworks 3) - Trains vs Zombies ... just to prove that you can put zombies into any type of game ...

There are a few other more unheralded titles too - indie titles such as Chthulu Saves the World & Breath of Death 7. I'm wondering whether to get hold of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, a vampire RPG/FPS based using the source engine.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent is there for £2.60 - I've only played it for a couple of hours, but it did succeed in putting the willies up me (gotta love that phrase). It's particularly effective because you're not armed, which ratchets up the tension a fair bit.

"unfortunately" already almost everything from that sale that I'd be interested in and my machine can run, like Amnesia and the other Indie stuff. Only grabbed Sherlock Holmes.

Just wanted to say that anyone that hasn't experienced this game yet, should give it a go. It's less then 3 quid, doesn't require a monster PC to run, and it's AWESOME.

As stated above - it's a FPS (First Person sh1t-yourself) and uses headgames, tension, darkness, and other horrible stuff to make you poo your pants, it's a TOTALLY different direction and I love it. No weapons and the fact that you can't even look at your enemies without losing your mind. Just wait till your lantern runs out of oil in the flooded levels (as mine just did). Best played on headphones with the lights off. Think similar to Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem (which I also need to buy)

It was a good idea to check this thread out since it's a good reminder to check all the sales. As such I think I'm going to sell my original copy of Painkiller and pick-up the Painkiller complete pack for $4.99. Should be good.

This is a pretty sick sale. I picked myself up Amnesia (wanted it for ages), Penumbra package (heard its like Amnesia) and Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines (loved the first)

Theres a few more things i wouldnt mind nabbing but my steam library is already big enough, and i can only assume it will gte a lot bigger when the christmas packages hit.
I asked for orange. It gave me lemon lime!

Just read through this thread and realised I haven't used Steam in ages even though it loads up whenever I boot up my PC, I've had Steam since 2004 after HL2 so gonna see what bargains there are over the next few weeks. Dungeon Siege 3 can be bought for a tenner or less now already so I'd buy the disk.
