rf on old telly or via a modern plasma?

what would be the best setup

On the rare occasion that I do it for real I just use my Lcd telly. Its not a good experience but you soon get used to it.

I need a games room. Pronto.

I have about 3 retro consoles surrounding my only SDTV. My Sega Genesis is one of them. All composite connections, since this TV isn't exactly high end and only has composite ports. Better than RF though.

Playing it through a SCART on a "proper" telly (not flat, not LCD, not HD, but a big massive thing) is the way to do it.

And a good two-player game that was missed out is Dashin' Desperadoes, love that one! Also Zombies and Sonic 2.

I brought a cheap ex rental CRT tv a while back from eBay and play everything pre PS2 on it. It's really worth doing, especially for 16 bit consoles. You should check your local ad mag or notice boards. People are literally giving them away so long as your willing to do some heavy lifting.

Now for a terribly serious couple of questions.

1) when collecting megadrive/ mastersystem games, what do you do with the 'hook' on top of the case that was used to display them in shops

do you snap it off?
do you keep it on?
Ive seen some collectors who snap it off & turn the case upside down so the jagged plastic is at the bottom of the game shelf.

2) how do you alphabetise some games?

Ayrton Senna's -Super_ Monaco GP II {A or S or M}
The lost world: Jurassic Park {J or T or L}
Quackshot / Castle of illusion {Q or C}

please help - my ocd is killing me :)

I like the ones that clip down into the case. but other than that, if it on the box i leave it, if its not, its not.
Sorting out the games is another kettle of fish entirely, i've done it by year, publisher, colour, alphabeticaly, genre, pure favouritism etc. god knows what kind of state they are in since i moved house, but thanks for reminding me they need to be sorted!

I don't actively seek game with them but I do I keep mine on. I've no idea why you'd want to pull them off intentionally damaging the case in the process.

I like that on the really nice condition blue label games they are basically folded over and there is even a little catch to hold it in place.

Always keep the wee-willie-winkies ON... I cringe anytime I hear people say they remove them :lol:

All of mine are displayed in alphabetical order - A for Ayrton Senna, L for the Lost World (ignoring the 'the')... Q for Quackshot... etc
