Badge collection

Postby dste on Thu Dec 08, 2011 9:54 pm

Yes, this may seem sad to some people but ever since I was little I've always picked up and collected badges for some reason. I found the tin a couple of days ago and had a good look through and thought I would take some snaps as there are a few that people may like/remember.

Can anybody remember what the above ones were for? I'm sure it was a drink but cannot remember which.

That's great - do you wear them all on your bomer-jacket on a saturday as you stroll around the shops with your mates though?

I too have a few badges, but sadly I cant bring myself to emblazon them upon a jacket - as much I would secretly like to.

Of course, it's the only way to go.

You should definitely get it sorted and wear your badges with pride.

Hopefully, somewhere in my mums loft, I have about 150 mirror badges from 30 odd years ago. They ranged from Two-Tone and punk bands like The Specials and Exploited to cartoon characters. I just couldn't stop buying them!

I have about 300-400, mostly from places I've visited.

I have all of those rectangular lifeboat ones, and the Nip into your library one with the crab...

Don't have many videogame ones though.

Those are great, I spy a few that I have (Turtles, Beano etc). Liking the Beezer and Topper ones too, and that one that says you're a farmer.

Still got all mine, but they're mostly birthday badges. A lot of them have got rusty pins on the back, so there's always the added fun of a possible new disease everytime I take a look at them.

Whilst clearing out an old pot on my window sill I came across some forgotton relects of the past!
I have an Xevious Badge that came free with my Speccy game. A Fox Fights Back badge that was probably free with Sinclair user and a Doctor Who badge that I bought in the Blackpool exhibiiton. I also found a Jack Slater Badge from the Last Action Hero. Not to mention a glow in the dark scary skull that came free with the early 80's Spike Comic.
