I'm sure some of you have played or heard of Retro Game Challenge on the Nintendo DS. This is the TV show it was based off. The show sees Japanese Comedian Shinya Arino play though a series of retro video game challenges. The show also cotains interviews and tours of video game shops, game centers (arcades), video game expos and other video game related places. The show started in 2003 and is still going today, many of the episodes can be found subtitled on youtube.

I heard the video game news site Kotaku localised some of the episodes but apparently they did a terrible job of it so you best of watching on youtube.
The show is far and away the best video game show I have ever seen, it has drama, it is funny, interesting and it never gets boring. Also the episodes are an hour long.

Those websites are terrible at lining them out in proper episode order. Just looking at the GamingCX one an episode 31 is lumped in around number 60. Quite why they couldn't do a lit in order like yours.

Thanks for these, I saw the lost levels one ages ago and loved it but most of the others I wanted to watch were taken down before I had a chance to see it.

I'd like to see an English remake of these with a decent celebrity doing them, maybe Brian Blessed.

Arino does play games in his spare time, mostly Famicom judging by the episodes.

I mention kotaku but a lot of people slammed it for bad dubbing and the removal of several segments.

The game center visits are probably one of my favourite parts of the show, one season had him visit a load of sweet shops that happened to have arcade machines.

EDIT: Looking around, apparently a lot of episodes aren't on youtube because kotaku are claiming copyright or something like that. For example I found episode 40 but 1/4 of it was cut off so Kotaku couldn't take it down.
