I was literally about to suggest that. LaserCat is great fun.

LASERCAT (80 points)

Great platformer in the style of Jet Set Willy and old speccy games.. search all the rooms and find the 30 keys to release your Owl friend.. fun, and with a good, British, sense of humour like we used to see in JSW and Monty Mole Games of the 80s's. If you like your old skool platformers this is for you!

Definitely. Quite quick to complete, but an enjoyable JSW type game, and well worth the 80 points.

NO LUCA NO

50ms points.

Crap. Yet somehow amazing when drunk. All you have to do is stop a cat getting to your cornflakes. Over and over again.

Definitely some good stuff on there.

I second the bit about Pac-Man Championship DX being bloody amazing. That game surprised the heck outta me, it did.

And there's definitely some neat indie stuff, but I wish it wasnt so irritating to BROWSE. Just the whole interface is bleh....

I'll also suggest Decimation X3, as the indie ones go. Made by the guys that did Score Rush. Entertaining and chaotic.

There's more, but I'd have to have a look on my console.

Oh, and "Crosstown" I think it's called. Inspired very obviously by Crossroads on the C64.

On a related note, it seems CAPCOM have decided to show non-LIVE users some love. Link:

Would be nice if others, like SNK, followed suit.

Yeah ive had my eye on this for awhile, hoping it does get a PAL release as when i last looked, it was only JAP and US. it's got the shmup 1945 Joint Strike on. Not an amazing game, but Definitely will be adding it to the collection.

It'll go down in price soon enough! Then I'll pounce on it like bargain-loving ninja. More than anything, it's the idea of companies compiling their LIVE output onto disc. I prefer to have tangible copies of games when possible, and not everyone has LIVE. This absolutely deserves to be supported.

Like you, I prefer physical releases, just annoying that the pricing on a number of these is disappointing . . . the Dreamcast collect one was another example.

But, yes, should be congratulated for putting a disc out there. . . .

Indie: I've been playing Invasion which is a run and gunner, sort of like the old fashioned arcade run and gunners with big sprites. Good fun.

Also Dead Pixels is a must (as featured in RG :-)) and i've been playing a twin-sticker lately called Elemental Wizard which is pretty good fun.

All 80 msp.

Just grabbed one for 80pts called Brand. Seems a bit like Cadash, only in 2.5D and with some impressive production values (this REALLY doesn't look like an 80pt game). From what I've played of it so far, seems pretty decent, quite ambitious graphically for an XBLIG game, though does have a spot of slowdown/tearing in places, though who gives a shizzle for 80pts??? It was quite an unexpected surprise finding this one, actually. ;)
