Here are (what will likely prove to be) my last entries into this thread:

and

Both from last Thursday down the town in the charity shops. I was particularly happy with the two Ratchet games for £1 each in Shelter - never played either of them before. Annoyingly, I didn't ask for a reciept with Pikmin in Barnardos, so it probably doesn't count. Still, good bargain!

I also picked up Medal of Honor: Frontline on the GameCube for 50p in Cash Convertors on Tuesday. Rubbish, but f**k it, here it is:

The whittling is now complete!

On Thursday and Friday, I will post 5 polls on each day, categorized by format. The winner from each poll will go through to a grand final poll of 10 games which will be started on the 23rd December.

There's been some great entries this year. When voting, bear in mind it's not necessarily the best bargain that should get your vote, but a combination of this and how good a game is!

Before I go on a mad voting spree, what is the criteria again?

Is it best bargain, in terms of what would fetch the highest price on ebay?
Best game, as in most fun you would get for your quid?
Or most sought after, as in rarest find that you just aren't going to get easily at any price, let alone a quid?

Or something else, or a combination of the above?

Combination really. I tend to avoid the obvious ones and go for games I've actually played and enjoyed, but it's up to you really mate!

Its whatever you personally feel 'yeah, a quid, I'd have that'. Doesn't really matter what your rationale behind it is, though if you care to share it may stir some debate. We all have our reasons, for some its resale value, for others its nostalgia, for some more it may be that they missed it first time round. Vote for what your heart tells you.

Personally, I feel that my £1 PC Myst: The Collection (+extra, COMPLETE version of Myst: Masterpiece Edition, in addition to the one already included in the collection!) from Cash Converters should've got a place in the top 10, but muggins here peeled off all the stickers, binned the receipt (as the discs are all minty) and was kind of on/off in terms of online postings at the time.

Bah! Wish I had taken photos at the time of purchase....!!!!

I still think my 49p smackdown vs raw 2011 was a great find considering that the game wasn't even a year old at the time.

I'm not bumping all the individual threads again, but here's a little reminder that the polls close in a couple of days time. Just use the search box for king of the quids if you want to register your vote.

Are we doing a KotQ 2012 comp?

I don't mind setting it up if there's enough interest! :D

last week, I picked up Morrowind: GOTY Edition for XBOX 1 for 99p. Seeing as it goes for £30+ on ebay, I was pretty chuffed to say the least.
