It's such a shame this still hasn't got a PAL release it's such a great value collection, saying that I found Raiden Fighters Jet to be the only game in the package that I still go back to.

I guess we'll see if this one appears - I do find it a bit strange that it's not listed on DTPs site as an upcoming game yet!

A release in Germany is better news.. I pre-ordered this game in Jan last year. It will at least give people the option to play it if they haven't got a Jap 360

Yep I caught that this morning mate, with the way that Cave have been able to do quick ports DeathSmiles 2 and Akai Katana I really fancy this for a 360 release later on in the year. Hopefully it's a full sequel and not an arcade revision.

yeah me too. I think the 'sai' part just translates as something like extreme or something similar. so it might be a revision. We shall see.

Location test is Feb 3-5 so we won't have to wait long to find out.

It gets better as well. From the latest Famitsu 360:

I am over the moon about this. I was playing this is MAME yesterday but it wasn't working very well. If it included 1.5 as well that would be incredible.

What a busy morning for Cave!!

I'm glad this is getting a 360 release, the PS2 port is great but you know - those filters are a bit wonky!! I really prefer this to Futari, fingers crossed for a physical release.

A few more details: http://www.cave-stg.com/?p=1834

Sounds good but implies no SDOJ for 360.

Bugger, spotted that too implies that all other ports after this will be next gen - Wii U? Let the wild speculation begin!!

Cave have been known to change their minds though - doesn't bode well for any PS3 ports which a lot of people thought would happen............ eventually

I suspect that the next gen of consoles won't be as good for shmups as the 360 was. But if they can set a precedent with SDOJ then that'd be great. Whatever they pick I hope it's region free!

Sorry I should post the story we're referring to:

Mushihimesama HD announced for the Japanese Xbox 360

Posted by EOJ on January 30, 2012 4:50

It’s official, Cave’s next X360 game is Mushihimesama HD (it seems HD is part of the title). Asada posted some interesting things about the game on his blog. The most surprising is he says this will probably be their last game on the current generation of consoles.
He says his team has shifted to work on “new hardware platforms they’ve never worked on before”. He also alludes to working on next gen hardware, but is tight-lipped about the details. In any case, since Asada says this will probably be their last shooter on any of the current hardware (which means no PS3 ports, in case you were still holding out for that) they’re trying to make the game really special. Also, since the game was already ported, they’re trying to make it much improved, like a “Plus Alpha” version. Let’s hope this means 1.5 is included, or at least some fun new arrange mode. The graphic assets have all been redone in hi res, like previous ports, and the team started work on the project before Instant Brain was finished.
The release date will be announced very soon.

If they've been working on this since Instant Brain it might mean this'll be out soon!

Fantastic. Let's hope this is physical release. I'm sure I read somewhere about Cave releasing their whole back catalogue on XBLA/Demand, before a thread turned into a pointless Cave bashing and people talking about favorite cheeses or something.

So i'm guessing this is a reworking of the PS2 port of Mushihimesama? How much does it differ from Futari in regards to: Levels, bosses, scoring, music? Basically is it a whole different game? I think i remember hearing it was a lot harder than Futari.

I haven't found the PS2 port as a reasonable price so have never bought or played it.

Yeah it's a completely different game. Futari is the sequel to it. But it looks like we can expect it to include more than just the standard game. I guess we'll just have to wait for more details.

Ehhhhh?

The first Mushi is the next 360 game?

....bah.

I'll end up flipping a coin or something as to wether or not to buy it.

On the plus side, I definitely like Mushi. On the minus side, it's bloody boring now. I finished Ultra in the first game some time ago (after lots... and lots... and lots... and lots... and lots... of practice), and.... the scoring system is bloody awful for every mode, so.... nothing else to DO in it, really.

If it has a decent arrange mode that might be nice, but I already have this on iPad, and I really end up not playing it very much.

Feh.

Well, for the time being I dont care overmuch. If at some point SDOJ becomes a chosen port, THEN I'll care.
