 Of course i'm 'involved' in threads that involve Moaning/flaming/hate/name calling etc.

1)It's a forum, 2) seems someone going to take offence at whatever someone else says, least of all myself and 3)Owned an N64, Jaguar, Saturn etc etc, basically any of the various threads people get so wound up on.

Seriousily though, a troll? ohh come on....i post here as you get good debates (mostly), done some fantastic trades and as for Trolling..you seriousily think i'd troll and STILL be doing great trades with folks, giving away hardware, games etc, lending out goods to people on here? (Some of which i've NEVER gotten back, posters ignore PM's, seem to have left the forum), played online with people from here etc etc.

but f**k it, people can think i'm a troll, fanboy, whatever, it's not going to stop me being myself on here.If you have 'issues' with what i post? use the foe option...

Of all the reasons to moan about the Jag, I don't think the controller is top of the list. I rather like it, but then my hands are enormous.

:D Ditto.I also liked the std. Atari 7800 controller, but seems like i'm the only 1, also much prefer orig.Xbox pad over S-controller.

I don't own a Jag but from what I have read and seen of the muti-format games you are best off getting Rayman, Tempest 2000, (silent) DOOM, Wolfenstein and Ailens vs Predator. After that there really isn't anything to play on it.

Also the controller never seemed that bad to me, does the back of it have grooves that your hands fit into? Surely that would be a good thing?

It bemuses me how some folk love to slate the Jaguar controller but seem to go curiously quiet when it comes to highlighting the gamepad abominations that came as standard with certain other consoles. Such is the way of teh internets...

I already listed at least 20 games other than those worth playing on it

Yes the controller is molded to fit your hands, its much like holding a Lynx actually - especially the Pro Controller.

I love the 7800 pad, the screw in thumb stick was a great idea and is really good for certain games.

:D Cheers man.You and i? had some very good debates over the years, differing viewpoints a lot of the time, but respect always been there.I've been in awe of the Lynx stuff you post and that Fight For Life (Jag) story, 1st i'd heard of, so Kudos there. (Recal Tim Follin saying Sega still had'nt paid him for Ecco Music, even by time PS2 version was released).

If people DO have issues with me, fair play to'em.I'm NOT out to troll anyone-be a ruddy waste of all our time and adds NOTHING to the community here, but i'm not going to try and be someone i'm not, will hopefully add researched points, balance etc to my posts, but the troll comment, that cracked me up.

Only 1 person on here ever met me in real life, so not quite sure just how others can judge me... Love forums at times, it's like the Dream Arena days all over again.

I will never be convinced that the jaguars library of games can compete against just about any other console, but thats not really the point though is it

Its about experiencing the console for what it is and indulging in some retro gaming without any outside influences and comparisons.

If I picked up another one with a load of games, I would probably lose an entire day to it and enjoy every single minute of it. The problem arises when you step out of that bubble and try and stand it toe to toe with the more established consoles.

As for games, I have played on a lot of the jaguars library and the ones I got the most enjoyment out of were probably the least technical Sesible soccer, Flashback, Cannon fodder. powerdrive, Raiden, and NBA JAm.

I however did quite enjoy Super burnout, and the only game that satnds out on the Jag in my opinion Aliens vs Predator.

Jagfest_UK wrote:Seen as its a slightly different game to the other versions its obviously going to be missing things isn't it?

Well how can it be the best version if it's missing things? It's like saying, "My car is the best Renault Clio you can get! It's more-or-less the same as every other Clio, except the sound that tells you you've left your headlights on doesn't, one of the buttons on the radio doesn't work, and the steering's wonky, but it's shiny!"

It's not a fact that the CD versions are better, but as the only thing the Jag improves upon is the graphics (okay, it has a minigame and slightly faster load times), I'd say it's a very sensible opinion.

Yeah, I don't have any problems with the Jag or the original Xbox controller. They're a bit on the bulky side, but they're still perfectly usable.

Jagfest:Think i've Exmouth micro's to thank for getting me an Atari 7800 controller, gutted when i wore it out though, as said shop had (sadly) closed and finding Atari stuff was a nightmare living where i did, so never replaced it.

The hand size thing though...has effected my gamesplaying over the years.Metroid Prime on G.C caused me grief for playing for long periods, could not get on with the nub moving stuff on PSP The Warriors, so ended up buying it on Xbox, hated the stick rotation stuff on PS2 God Of War (though dead zone on PS2 pads might have been an issue as well).

Can never get on with black+White button repositioning on Xbox S-controller either...(sulks).

Yeah, I remember. But I don't tend to count the CD32 as a pukka console - to me it's just an A1200 with a built in CD ROM and the keyboard ripped off. That's just my personal view though!

All consoles are, is circuit boards with chips on them, the CD32 is no less a console than the 3DO (which you could buy PCI versions of and put in your PC case!) Granted the CD32 was born off the A1200, but with a CD drive and no floppy drive or keyboard as standard giving no compatibility out of the box, and added Akiko chip and FMV slot, meaning no CD drive for the A1200 could ever run all CD32 titles... it cant be called a computer at the end of the day

The Amiga CD32 - now there was a console with a truly horrific gamepad! :o

I thankfully have one of these instead...

... and a Competition Pro Extra joystick which I sometimes use depending on the game being played.

Am I really that bad? haha. I do have some retro love, and that's all we need, right guys? +Rinoa.

For the record, or Nakamura's

1 - I think the atari jaguar stinks.
2 - I do miss Speedlolita.
3 - If you think the Wii console is sh!t, then you clearly are not a well travelled gamer. It has some incredible games.
4 - Just becuase this is a retro forum, doesn't mean modern gaming should be frowned upon
5 - I have never completed a Final Fantasy game.
6 - I do not think The vulture is a troll, well at the very least a negative troll.

Dude, if I thought you were an actual doche, you'd be ignored. Needless to say you haven't been ignored, so I don't think you're a doche. I enjoy trolls, one day we'll talk in person and you'll realise my humour is poorly understood on the internet.

I do however find it difficult to read what you type, ps3 browser perhaps?

Anyway, if i've offended anyone, here's a picture of the best console of all time. Let it bring joy to you.
