Tbh I'd rather have McClaren than Mourinho - the England job should be more about the country than the manager, and with Jose in charge national team would be even more of a circus than it was under Eriksson.

If Harry doesn't become the new full-time England manager then maybe, just maybe...

Capello did exactly what he wanted - saw an opportunity to get out and took it. He made about £24m in four years and had the best record of any england manager for yonks. He also had leagues, cups and European Cups to spare on his CV.

Still, appoint a man who's won one trophy in his career cos he's INGERLISH!

Financial reasons aside, Capello should have been shown the door after the 2010 World Cup debacle.

Jose wouldn't take the job as there's a high likelihood he'll fail. He's nurtured a reputation of being incredibly succesful but the way he does that is by taking jobs where there's not THAT much that needs to be done to win things. The more likely scenario is that 'arry takes the England job and he replaces him at Spurs but I couldn't see him taking the place at England. At least he'll be good for a quote if he did!

more likely that 'arry will "do 'is duty" and manage England and Jose will (after beating Barca to the La Liga title) join Spurs and start winning them things too

When you look at the lack of long term signingS and trimming of the squad that spurs have done recently, it does look as though they've been preparing for some time for new management.

I'd maybe like to see Martin O'Neill, with Stuart Pearce as his number two, get the full-time job. The spirit of Cloughie to haunt the FA and all that!

Very much doubt O'Neill will leave Sunderland so soon after joining them - he's noi that kind of person , and if he WAS inteested in the job he'd have simply waited another few months before Capello left at censored up our chances at the Euro finals.

If Pearce is successful in the short term , he'll get the job - if he wants it. Harry is too much of a loose cannon; we've already had a manager who's honest and outspoken (Keegan) and looked what happened there. You have to be a certain kind of character to hack it in the England job, and tbh I don't think Harry has it judging by his emotions in the recent court case.

Redknapp is a good club manager - good at wheeling and dealing, but he has little experience of European football, none of international. He has been successful with a club not expected to do so well, but can anyone honestly say that they have any basis for seeing him as a genuine international manager?

As for Mourinho - he'll only take a job where there's pots of cash available. I fully expect to see him either back at Chelsea or more likely at City the next time he's in England, not a cash-conservative Spurs.
