This has slipped in underneath my radar. Apparently a unique and brilliant game so should be well worth checking out.

A friend of mine on Twitter who reviews for GmeCritics adores this game and has been harping on about it for months.
I'm still on the fence because of the dream puzzles that he admits can get tiresome.
Looks amazing though and love the concept!

I imported the USA version last year and it was my surprise game of last year.

The puzzles were incredibly addictive, I was having weird block puzzle dreams night after night while playing the game Its got a pretty steep learning curve in the beginning, it takes a while to get all the different block shifting techniques down and I did struggle through a few levels at first but on my second playthrough I managed to clear all the levels with gold awards with ease. Its incredibly fun and satisfying to do

Plus there is loads content wise. The Rapunzel mini game in the bar is bastard hard, way harder than the main game! There are multiple endings that are worth watching several are really good/funny) and the tower of babel levels are extra tough levels (never did finish them).

I also imported the PS3 version but not finished it yet, as Shadowman says it gets really hard later on!!! The Babal Stage I can't even unlock as you a gold ranking on a level.. To me the chase scene's/Boss battles are giving me trouble - your chased up the pyramid by a giant pair of womens breats with eye's(that what it looks like to me).. It fires kisses that reverse your controls and most of the blocks have spike traps that impale you when you step on them...

Gamesmaster gave it a average mark for being to hard!!!

How do you get the multiple endings, is it responses to people in the bar or on the phone - or choices to that voice in the Priest confession box? So far most of the people seem to recognise you from when they turn into sheep at Night, but the next day they end up dead.. Also any idea how to outwait everybody in the bar, as after a while evil Catherine comes

I've got this, and I've finished the first 3 stages. I'm slightly worried about it getting harder because it's already very challenging. One way of helping yourself is to make sure you find a way to the pillows, which give you two extra retries! On one level, I even opted to go from the beginning of the level rather than the checkpoint, because I knew where the pillow was and how to get to it.

So far it's been a satisfying challenge overall, but it's not the most relaxing - I think the game does a good job of transferring the main character's anxiety to the gamer, so much so that whenever I finally get to the top of a tower, I feel like punching the air in relief!

The endings are gotten by having either your bar in the red or in the blue when you get to the final set of levels. At that point depending on the answers you give in the confession booth between the final set of levels will determine which ending you get (and they are all quite different)

As for boss attacks, it is possible to dodge them, for the heart attack you mentioned above you need to position yourself so that there is a block above you do it shelters you from the attack. Otherwise like you say it becomes a pain in the ass to finish the level.

To keep the people in the bar alive I simply talked to em a lot in both human and sheep forms, and when they ask you a question I always picked the answer that pushes your bar into the blue. I'm not sure if it's possible to save everyone in one play through though, it took me two.

My copy just popped in this morning. I'll probably have a go Sunday afto, need to be in the mood for puzzle games.

I really like games that give the player choices that alter the story and allow a different ending so that, coupled with the uniqueness, makes this game very appealing. Reading all your posts above the puzzles sound quite daunting. I like a challenge in games but I'm beyond playing through lots of frustration! Hopefully the story and game in general will carry my attention.

It IS pretty much a pure puzzle game... there's narrative and whatnot between the puzzles, but the puzzles are the entirety of the gameplay.

The puzzles and general atmosphere of the game remind me of Intelligent Qube on the PS1..... even with the same result if you screw up, you get squashed by a cube or fall to your doom.

From what I've seen the slightly odd perspective can make the game a little confusing, and much like Intellgent Qube you have to move fast to get through each one, or you'll get killed by something.

I've seen a number of RPG fans that I know buy this one because the narrative/story sections of the game are usually what's touted about it, but then they all gave up on it after just a few puzzle sections.

Reading all your posts above the puzzles sound quite daunting. I like a challenge in games but I'm beyond playing through lots of frustration! Hopefully the story and game in general will carry my attention.

It *is* a difficult game, by most accounts. You either think fast and solve it and execute it just right and move on, or you get squashed and repeat it.... again and again.... you really might wanna have a look at some gameplay videos of the puzzle bits or something before you buy this.

I also imported it and loved it.

I got it because I didn't think it would get released over here and then 2 days after it dropped on my mat a UK release was confirmed....

Everyone should play this game, the moral choices are great, and I'd recommend not trying to cheat the game and just go with how you feel about any particular situation. It will give you some sort of idea what type of person you are (not), but it's fun and you can always change your answers on another playthrough to get a different ending.

I like the bar and as someone else said Rapunzel will kick you in the balls!!!

If I didn't absolutely hate puzzle games I'd be having this. In fact, I was fully expecting to buy it until I read about the puzzles. Like Garcia Hotspur, I fuckin' hate puzzles.

Just completed Level 4. It is really quite brutal if you don't do things the right way. The puzzles are something you need time to think about, yet time is exceedingly tight. You get a general feeling of helplessness as you stare up at what seems to be a featureless vertical wall, knowing that the last time you tried to go up it, you didn't have quite enough space to build a staircase.

Still, I know now that I'm not going to run out of retries. There are two pillows on level 4, one each before and after the checkpoint, and it's worth 2 lives. So, having picked them up and subsequently lost a life many, many times over, I now have over 40 retries in the bank ...

I got it on import a few months ago and immediately found it very tough, like most challenges in life I almost immediately give up! Lent it to Felgekarp a while ago but don't think he's played it, he never uses his Ps3. Will definitely return to it.
