I'm still on the fence because of the dream puzzles that he admits can get tiresome.
Looks amazing though and love the concept!
It IS pretty much a pure puzzle game... there's narrative and whatnot between the puzzles, but the puzzles are the entirety of the gameplay.
The puzzles and general atmosphere of the game remind me of Intelligent Qube on the PS1..... even with the same result if you screw up, you get squashed by a cube or fall to your doom.
From what I've seen the slightly odd perspective can make the game a little confusing, and much like Intellgent Qube you have to move fast to get through each one, or you'll get killed by something.
I've seen a number of RPG fans that I know buy this one because the narrative/story sections of the game are usually what's touted about it, but then they all gave up on it after just a few puzzle sections.
Reading all your posts above the puzzles sound quite daunting. I like a challenge in games but I'm beyond playing through lots of frustration! Hopefully the story and game in general will carry my attention.
It *is* a difficult game, by most accounts. You either think fast and solve it and execute it just right and move on, or you get squashed and repeat it.... again and again.... you really might wanna have a look at some gameplay videos of the puzzle bits or something before you buy this.
