That Manta takes me back! My first car was a V plate rear wheel drive Cavalier. I loved it but I aspired to own a Manta back then!

I remember reading your posts about Alfas before Angry. I'm still an Alfisti at heart. That 156 would be awesome at the Alfa club Knockhill track night!

I'll have a look to see if I have any pics handy of my 4 wheeled friends.

My first car was a W plate Mk1 Cavaler.. Bright orange with a black vinyl roof.. :)

I'm a member of the London branch of the AROC and have been to a few Alfa days around the country..

Funnily enough it's our monthly meeting night next Tuesday..

I don't think I knew you were an Alfisti, Boggy :) I was an AROC and Scottish Section member for a few years. I'm still in touch with some of the guys from the Scottish section and attend the meet ups and events when I can. I've never made it to National Day, have you?

That Cav sounds like a sight for sore eyes! Mine was white, with red interior and white Weller wheels  I couldn't afford a new stereo for it so used to use a small battery powered 'ghetto blaster' 8) Still, I was the only guy at college with a car at the time and it made me popular!

Here are some pics of my old Sprint... I think I've posted these before... As you can tell, I didn't wash it to keep it as dry and rust free as possible!

I found a pic of my 147... nice but I prefer the 145.

A couple of a lovely leased Giulietta that I had for a few months. I'd love one of these again.

Lastly, a pic of my beloved 145 QV that currently resides off road with the plan to get it out in the summer.. .. if funds allow! I want to do a few jobs on it before it hits the road again including getting it undersealed.

I don't think anyone needs to see a pic of the C-Max I use everyday!

Yeah, my mate got me into them..

We have owned: a 92 J 164 Cloverleaf, 2003 52 Red 147 T-Spark exactly like yours, a 2004 54 Black 147 JTD Cloverleaf, an 84 Alfasud Sprint Cloverleaf, a 98 R 146 Ti, and last but not least a 2009 09 Brera S..

We both would like a Montreal and he wants a 90..

I quite fancy getting a Mito for my work commute..

I like the Mito and the Brera but practically not great for me. I did think about getting a GT at one point, when looking for a slightly bigger car, as it basically seemed like a 147 with a bigger boot.

I had a friend who had a Cloverleaf 164. For such a large car it felt nimble and sharp to drive. Were these Cloverleaf 164 all V6s? I think this one was. Great car.

I'm pretty sure my Sprint QV was an 87. Again, such a fabulous car to drive. Not a huge top end but getting there was rapid! Flat four sounded great as well.

Montreals are awesome. Have you seen, heard the one that the guy from Trentside restored and tuned? He brought it to the Scottish Italian car day in Falkland a few years ago. It's an utter beast. Pure V8 grunt. Here's a pic from his website >> Image

Treguard wrote:Ah Alfas, so lovely to look at, so costly to drive. Just got rid of my 156 2.0 Twin Spark. Petrol engine, can't justify upwards of £90.00 a week in fuel bills anymore. Bought a brand new Skoda Octavia 1.6 Diesel, and I'm saving about £50.00 a week.

From memory the 2.4 diesel was supposed to be good for 42mpg, the best I ever got was 36 on non-stop drive from Glasgow to London (Brooklands)...usually I'd get in the high 20's  I'd never grudge it though as it was incredible to drive, the power is addictive.

I've not decided what I'm going to do with that car, at the moment I'm thinking about trading up the 2 other cars we have and buying a 2L diesel Volvo estate

My mates 164 wasn't a V6.. I'm sure it was a 2.0 so it may have been a Twin Spark but I am sure it was a Cloverleaf..

Nice Monty pic, I hadn't seen that car before but it may have been at one of the national Alfa days I have been to... Looks nice! :)

Really need to get an Alfa again...

Having shared my very sensible 206 since we got it new in 2005, we have arrived at a point where we need a second car.

MrsCarlos has just bought this to use as her "little runaround".....

55,000 miles (checked), FSH, brand new alloys, decent sound system ...... £1200!

Why can't I ever find bargains like that?

Oh well, at least I get to drive it occasionally!

^^ I like that a lot. Guigiaro styled the mk1's so they are quite Italian in looks - not dissimilar to the the Alfa Sprint. The body work on that looks great for that price. Nice find!

It's very near perfect, small split on the driver's seat side and a slightly loose speaker wire in the back are the only problems I've found so far! It's a bloody lovely car.

Like I say, MrsCarlos bought it so it's "her" car - although I'm sure it will "our" car whenever it breaks

Great find the original VW Scirocco, especially the Mk 1 version, DJ Carlos. I had a Mk 2 version and that was a bit too cramped, plus mine seemed to like eating clutch cables!!!

The Alfa Romeos look lovely. I love the noise that the V6 petrol engines make! So raspy and throaty!

THAT. That is awesome. Tyre shreddingly awesome! I'm thinking... TRACK NIGHT!!! Always wanted to play with a 147 GTA. I'm not sure I'm brave enough to own one but I'm feeling ever so slightly envious!

Nice find Boggy :) Thats a great price for a whole lot of car.
