Cheers fella, quite depressing that i'm doing a search on the net for 'over 30's clubs in sheffield' ! It came back with 'Flares' which i know is super cheesy, we ended up there last time after we saw Oasis in Sheffield, met quite a few people i must admit, my mates loved it !

Today I got a reminder in the post of my operation on Monday and the fear bubbled up.
Today a friend of mine got fired from work for being ill too often.
But on the way home I had that thrilling moment when you are walking past a pretty girl and for a second your eyes lock and she smiles.
And then I got home to hear my beautiful 1 year old daughter singing Daddy Daddy Daddy as I came in the front door.
All in all, a good day =o)

Good things happened!
Got my university marks back for my first semester of second year: 86% overall, so a high B!
Sparred the best I've ever sparred in my HEMA stuff, so I'm certainly improving and on my way to competition winner ;)
And finally, got a date with a nice girl I met earlier this week, so great week so far!

Unemployed mates have told me that the worst bit is they hardly ever get a reply at all, even just 'no'. At least you're trying, just need to keep plugging away with applications I guess.

Got to have ten things (a fortnight)I have done to look for work on my job diary other wise they will stop my money.
To bad the stuff I do at the Lass aint enough to live on as id tell the JC to bugger off

^ Ten? Strange, I only have to declare six (although I tend to put a couple more to make sure).

And have also noticed I'm getting fewer replies since I started volunteering.

Been to local museum today to view there "gadget and gizmos" exhibition today. One massive room full of gadgets etc from 1950 - 2012....they had this mock up of an early 80's living room complete with large 'mobile phones', beta max videos, crappy old tv's and in one corner, well, I wish I had my camera with me:

Boxed Firefox F7 LCD Game
Pac Land LCD
Invaders LCD
Boxed Spectrum +3
A set up of a Spectrum ZX81

Loads of games, other LCD's. They had an Atari Flash Back console set up to play, and in a class cabinet they had a boxed VCS (Woody and Jr models) loads of loose carts, a boxed original Game boy with games, countless TV pong type machines.

I'm going back during the week because it was full of kids and there back at school next week so will be super quiet and I'll take plenty of photos.

I got one of my eyes lasered yesterday, an hour of sitting around and 2 5 minute sessions of being quite uncomfortable, everything seemed to go ok though, I'll just have to wait for my appointment for the same on my other eye. Oh and you don't get an eye patch to wear either!

I'd love to get that done as I'm buying glasses for one bad eye, alas the prescription is way too strong that lasering would be ineffective :(

It's not so I don't need glasses, I'll still be wearing those, I've got changes at the backs of my eyes due to my diabetes so it's to try and clear those up.
