I think the forum pro app has been removed from iTunes. I must have downloaded it over a year ago... When it was available.

Sorry guys. :(

Can someone with the power to make this happen please comment on the feasibility of adding the FREE TapaTalk plug-in to the forums?

Surely there must be a decent forum app that doesn't require a change/upgrade to the forum software?

Imagine if all web sites needed a change just to be partially readable on mobiles... :-/

It's not much of a change. It's the equivalent of adding a plug-in to your Firefox browser. Completely transparent to non-mobile users and minimal effort required on the part of the board admin.

And it doesn't make the forums partially readable on mobiles...it makes the boards completely functional and user-friendly on mobiles. Not only that, the forums will show up in the Tapatalk search index which could likely attract new users and new subscribers. All for free.

As an example, here's what a regular forum looks like on the computer with the free Tapatalk plug-in installed. It's a normal forum. The Tapatalk plug-in makes absolutely no changes to the standard forum.

Here's the exact same forum with the Tapatalk plug-in installed displayed in the Tapatalk app on the iPhone.

Here's what a thread looks like on the Tapatalk app. As before, the thread on the computer looks no different than it normally would.

The forum is not changed at all on the computer while the mobile forum in the Tapatalk app is user-friendly and full-featured.

The plug-in doesn't change anything about the forums for those who choose not to use the Tapatalk app. The forum without the plug-in looks exactly the same as the forum with the plug-in. However for those that choose to view the forum through the Tapatalk app, the forum becomes a much more enjoyable experience on mobile devices (iPhone, Android & Blackberry).

Hope that clears it up a bit. :)

I agree that it would be a good thing for RG. Are you sure you don't work for tapatalk? :-)

I can see the advantages of being able to read the forum on the move, but what does concern me is that it might encourage more posting from phones. Given the cumbersome nature of the input on phones without keypads, it could increase the quantity of textspeak-style posts.

Haha. No. I do for a living what my username says.

I just this app extensively and know how functional it is. I also really enjoy the RG forums and how much it would benefit from having mobile functionality. :D

I finally received a reply from the guy who developed that app and he wrote that he has no plans to make it available again. :(
