I really enjoyed ED but I gave up in frustration mid-way through the Arabian (?) bloke's chapter because I'd finally had enough of the the awkward combat. I just found it too hard to defend myself from all the enemies when using the characters sword felt so slow.

It is a great game that should be tried out and to be fair, many brilliant survival horror games are cursed with terrible controls and awful combat anyway.

The thing that drew me to ED in the first place was how the story synopsis read like a Lovecraft story, all the ancestral curses and ancient gods etc.
Brilliant story and the way the game played differently dependant on what god you 'aligned' with.

I've only managed to play fifteen minutes of ED for my blog but I really enjoyed what I did play, especially the opening where you are dumped in the room with the skeletons and just left to it.

Don't know if it became before or after, but Call of Cthulhu Dark Corners of the Earth had a sanity meter, it was a bit more complex than just a little bar though.

CoC:DCotE came out a while later in PC an Xbox and basically sucked when you got to the Marsh Refinery due to very limited ammo and unlimited respawning enemies...

ooh that was a tough section, and as much as love it, CoC is a tough game to love...

Viewtiful Joe is a must for a Gamecube collection. Definitely one of the best titles of the 128bit era.
The square is a great shape, and one that is criminally underused in modern game design. In the push to ever more granular, chaotic environments, games have lost sight of the simple pleasures of right angles and straight lines.

I ordered a complete copy of Billy Hatcher & the Giant Egg off amazon for pretty cheap a few weeks ago. Never played the game but heard some good things about it.

Someones made a 'who am I' thread on another forum, and he's thought of a character from a gamecube game, and its been days and nobody has gotten the answer. I need some help, driving me insane. Here are the clues so far :

-I am helpful to the player
-I can be a nuisance
-My name isn't known
-I am not blue
-I don't live in a forest
-I don't have wings
-I am not in a PS1 game
-I am in a GC game
-My skin color is white (like a white human, not pale white)
-I am not in a Survival horror game
-The game I'm in is for all ages (including kids)
-I do have a single physical form
-I am male
-I am in an adventure game
-I am not a playable character
-I am not Tingle in Wind Waker or any other Zelda game
-I am a child not an adult
-I am in a first party Gamecube game
-I am not in a Mario-related game
-I am not in a party game (if by party you mean Mario Party)
-I don't hang around the player, but the player does meet me at various points in the game when he goes to the place where I could be found
-The game I'm in does involve a type of combat, but I don't participate in any of it
-There is more than one protagonist in the game I'm in, but only one of them is controlled by the player
-The game I'm in was developed in Japan
-I am not from Twilight Princess
-The game was released in Japan, the U.S., and Europe
-The game was highly reviewed
-The character is not any child from Harvest Moon.

Who am I?

Me and my six year old son set up the Gamecube yesterday.

Awesome system, and I've still got loads of games for it.

On a cold and rainy day like today, we mostly played Mario Party 6.

Isn't there some helpful kid or something in Luigi's Mansion?

Not Mario related is a bit vague isn't it, though I can't recall any kid in Luigi's Mansion.

I reckon I've actually figured this out but it does depend on one of the clues being a little misleading.

Its neither your suggestion Pratty, nor anyone from Luigi's Mansion. Thanks alot though. The poster has picked a very vague choice which inspires little enthusiasm to keep trying, as he's just being stupid now with his answers.

Here are the latest answers , which I've bolded. Please help me destroy him lol

I am helpful to the player
-I can be a nuisance

-No, I'm not the moogle thing or anyone else from Final Fantasy Chronicles
-I am not anyone in crystal chronicles
-By 'I am not Tingle from Windwaker, this only refers to Tingle
-The game is part of a franchise
-The character appeared in one game, though you could say he appeared in at least one other (there is a followup question that could clarify things greatly)
-I'm not anyone from 4 swords
-I'm not the bug catching kid from A Link to the Past
-I'm not from a pikmin game (I don't even know what a pikmin game is)
-No, the game I'm in was not the only one from the franchise to appear on the GC
-I believe there were 4 other games from the same franchise on the GC
-There are *many* games (more than 15) within the same franchise altogether
-I'm not Medli from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

-I'm not a Koroks
-I am not from a Wario game
-I am not from a Pokemon game
-I'm not from a Resident Evil or Digimon game

Just started playing Chibi Robo again, I picked it up a few weeks ago. I'd forgotten just how brilliant this game is. Unique, fun, and strangely touching - one of the most underrated games of the last decade. I don't know about it being my favorite GC game (SSBM and Luigi's Mansion are right up there) but it's certainly one of them - it's a real shame it didn't appear on the more popular Wii originally, I think it would have had decent appeal to the casual gamer.
