Inside EA Games on TV tonight.

Postby Morkin on Thu Mar 01, 2012 2:32 pm

Just a heads up to say that there's a programme on TV tonight called Megafactories, Visiting the EA Games factory in Canada. It's on National Geographic at 9PM.

Might be of interest to some people.

I thought we were all starting to get past this "EA are evil and mass produce crappy games" moan-fest.

They probably have the best track record of any publisher this generation.

Now that's something I can agree with; in fact I loathe most DLC.

I'm a huge EA fan, bought tons of the american football Madden series.

30 quid or so just once a year to get the latest version with updates is nothing.

Its all about the making of Fifa 2012 not EA as a whole.

In that case I will definitely try and catch it, as I'm guessing Man City will be featured at some point (we have a partnership with the FIFA franchise)!

It's not just that though is it. Not as sure with NFL but Fifa is hugely different every year. People seem to think it is just updated kits/rosters!

I was interested until you posted that. Is it true?

For a while though, it was. By the time they started making an effort with the games each year they'd already gotten themselves a bad reputation with a lot of gamers though, and mud sticks.

For this gen, I'm still grateful to EA for brilliant, unconventional games like Mirror's Edge and Brutal Legend (even though they weren't big commerical successes) & Dead Space, and whilst they're not my cup of tea many people love the Battlefield: Bad Company games, and Mass Effect.

Overall I think they've really made an effort to put out top quality titles in recent years.

From what the Sky box said I think it's specifically about Fifa.
