What games/consoles have you bought this week??

Just been into town and got :-

Retrogamer issue 100.
The Commodore 64/Spectrum 30th Anniversary Special Book.
Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition (360) £25 in Game.

Thats cheaper than most places online and the 360 version seems to have sold out in a lot of places.

Also, SSX (PS3) appeared in the post this morning.

We have an antiques dealer in our village and they sell everything from chairs to games and today, as a means to get out of the house (due to being housebound for 2 weeks now after my op) I popped in to have a nosey.
Wasn't cheap, not by any means, but a good haul I think (even though I have some of them already lol)

It's NTSC but how do you know it's fake?

It should also have a wireless adaptor with it.

US GBA games are always the 'design' that pirates use for fake games. Very rarely do you see EU or Jap pirates.

How does the box feel compared to the others? Dose it open up with ease?.

And the cart. The contact part can you see all the board or is it closed off after the contacts?

Yeah, the cart colour gives it away from a mile away. The Fire Emblem games might also be knockoffs but it's harder to tell with a picture of such a low resolution.

Box is a rigid one with a holographic underskin meaning it shines rainbow light as turned in the light.

Can just see the contacts, much like a Megadrive cart.

Check the labels and look for stamped numbers on them. Use another genuine uk cart or the Advance Wars 2 as a guide- as it has a darker cart label. if you can find the stamped numbers on that , look for similarly stamped numbers (usually same font) on the Fire Emblems - if they are present then they are genuine (along with other signs mentioned above).

Not much point checking Fire red as cart plastic is wrong colour.

Have given my GC a healthy / unhealthy boost today - 9 games off my list for a pretty low price. Romford has been very good to me today. 2 fairly rubbish Wii games for £2.00 , 2 ps1 games for 20p each and a clean copy of Ring of Red for £1.00.

If you have a delve in the bargain buckets in the now 3 second hand shops there , there have been some cracking finds (one copy of Giant Killers for less than £1 a few months back - sadly didnt take it )

Oh yeah . All pirate Pokemon games seem to have some sort of OTT holographic/glittery cover art - a real giveaway.

Snk classic's was only £12 Lords of Arcarna Limited edition £10 brand new and recieved the next day, had Zoku of Witchfinder and the Spectrum games where in the charity shop 20p each, Armoured Princess just liked the look off
