Dragonslayer is available on DVD :D

Anyone else watching Comic Book Men?

A 'reality' show set in Kevin Smith's comic shop, Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash, its got some really interesting items and guests appearing.

Most of it is just the guys kicking back and shooting crap, but there's obviously some set up to the things brought into the shop for sale and the experts called in to authenticate and price them.

Its not just comic stuff, it also brings in TV and movie memorabilia, toys etc.

There's some filler (a car boot sale in episode 1, a hockey game in episode 2), but the core of the show is quite watchable.

ISTR that the version I have has the 'nudie' bit, too. I'll have to dig it out and have a look.

As for the Comic Book Men show, isn't it just Pawn Stars with extra geeks? And isn't Pawn Stars just Miami Ink with... er... pawn instead of tattoos? When is this endless cycle of copying other formats going to end?

Went to see the Star Wars Film, Episode 1; The Phantom Menace (In 3D) with my 10 year old nephew this afternoon. It was a first for us both, to sit and watch a Star Wars film, I think I may have seen one when I was younger, but vaguely remember it. I thought it was good, but did not notice hardly any 3D effect, just brightness it was quite a long sitting for one film and maybe thought there were a lot of characters crammed into one film. I think I'll end up getting the Blu-ray set, once it's come down in price and maybe have a week of watch one an evening. Was impressed with my Nephew he was really well behaved, unlike some of the kids in there.

Probably never. I gave one episode a go, and turned it over to Ace of Cakes instead :D
Back to Dragonslayer, I *think* it might be the Region One version, I'm not sure. The person who did this version cleaned it up themselves, and took out a lot of the grain and dirt, and it actually looks a very clean print. I might have to look for the nudie bit though....several times  :D

Dunno, never seen these shows but they don't sound like they have a subject matter of interest to me.

Maybe if they keep copying the format they'll eventually get to an indie game store that stocks retro games? :D

Yep, the third season left me a bit disappointed with it. The Ireland storyline left me cold. I think it got criticised a bit. Hopefully, the fourth season is better.

From the guy who made Cinema Paradisio...Tim Roth stars a guy who has spent his whole life on a cruise liner, never set foot on land, he is also a genius on the piano...pretty amazing film, great soundtrack (a mixture of Jazz and Ennio Morricone)...if you loved Cinema Paradisio you'll also love this at it has some of the same magic....

I love 'Cinema Paradiso'. Both versions are great(although I don't think the director's cut adds much to the original). I'll definitely keep a look out for that film. I always wondered what happened to the director after 'Cinema Paradiso'(Guiseppe Tornatore). He never seemed to have another big hit.

Play currently have it for 45 quid, which is a a bit of a bargain, and works out less than a tenner per film. It does look spiffing in hi-def as well, might I add. Glad I upgraded.

Just watched Ashens' latest YouTube vid on video game 'collector's editions', pretty amusing. Can't believe people would want any of that tat - also surprised that car included with the new Driver CE is a friggin' statue and not even a proper toy car - who'd want a f*cking crap, tacky, plastic statue of a bloody car?????!!!

Bah, give me plain vanilla games, with maybe a CD soundtrack at a push if we're talking 'collectibles'. Nothing else!

Watched an ass load of Kink which is a tv documentary that follows around a bunch of people in the bdsm community. Interesting stuff, I watch a lot of these sex documentary type things and this one is among my favorites just because the people on it are so...real. I'm almost done watching all of Rocko's modern life, which has aged astonishingly well. I've really been enjoying it, way better than a lot of it's contemporaries.

I watched Sci-fi boys, which is a documentary about science fiction sorta. It's more about special effect creators than anything. It's all right, I wouldn't bother unless you really are into special effects. Watched American Scary too, which is a documentary about horror tv show hosts. A subject very near and dear to my heart, but christ do some of these people take it seriously.

Some interesting shows there I've not heard of, I may look some of them up.
