I'll bet DOA5 will have plenty of DLC costumes easy. The recent 3DS one had a whole host of them (those were thankfully free) but I can't not see a new DOA game having tons of DLC costumes. It'll be interesting to see what the final roster turns out to be, I know for DOA 4 they wrote a couple of characters out of the series, I wonder if they would still turn up in arcade/tag modes or be left behind for all new characters.

Akira does look pretty good in this though, I wouldn't have thought a VF character would have worked well in DOA but it looks like I might be wrong...

Considering its speed id of expected Jacky, Sarah, Pai or Kage, but Virtua fighter can be fast at times

Jacky or Sarah would seem dead certs for sure. Like you say they are fast paced fighters and pretty easy to pick up and play as well so I could see them fitting in pretty well with the rest of the cast.

Kage would be funny to see in the game if both he and Ryu both have their traditional blue ninja gear, they would look nearly identical

That looks pretty cool, I've got a soft spot for dead or alive so this is a definite purchase. VF vs DOA would be great :)

^It would make sense as they both kinda play the same.

Unlike other cross overs.

Maybe Fighters Megamix 2 rumours should start...........

We've had Marvel Vs. Capcom, Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe, Street Fighter Vs. Tekken, now DoA Vs. Virtua Fighter...

...bugger it, I want WWE Vs. Super Smash Bros.

Maybe it's that 3DS game Sega, Namco and Capcom are working on?

I've always been a tekken guy when it came to 3-d fighters. And every time I've tried to get into either of these games I just couldn't do it. Virtua fighter 4 and 5 looked awesome, but they just feel so clunky and restrictive compared to tekken. It always felt like they made the games execution artificially difficult to make up for lack of depth. And man that throw tech system, I know they just got rid of it but maaaan. Doa actually feels pretty smooth, but it's just rock paper scissors and a lame duck as a competitive game. But There are new people behind the helm, I'm hopeful they will make an actually fun game. The trailer looks promising, the super that akira did looks pretty sick. I like the VF cast, has good mix of characters in it (not so much doa but whatever).

I just hope that they don't try too hard, and get rid of everything that makes DOA fun to me. Honestly, I'm absolutely OK with the shallower mechanics in the series, DOA's always been more about being fast paced entry-level fun.

Thought I'd have more of a problem with it, but I do really like the new visual approach that's been taken.

So you really think endless rock paper scissors is fun?

Yep, it's quite diverting. There's a little more to it than that, though, DOA's always been very good about actually making use of being 3D. I'd rather the series maintain its own personality than become some cheap imitation of another.

Throw all them in one pot, add SNK, ARC System Works, Bloody Roar, Killer Instinct, all of Namco/Sega/Capcom's other fighters and of course Primal Rage and Kasumi Ninja.

THAT I'd be prepared to pay up to... ooh, about £15 for!
