I'm not sure if that is a pricing error, I would've thought £50 sounds more realistic. I've not seen any pricing info on any of the big game sites yet. Blaze products are normally cheap, so i remain hopeful of a pricing error.

I honestly cant see any normal person paying £500 for it. I could buy an aes with a few games or an mvc super gun and games for half that price.

Its NOT £500! That was some shocking internet journalism for you! They read on a forum...yes forum! that someone was willing to pay upto £500 for such a handheld and took that as the actual price! Oh dear another case of too many news sites with not enough news for you!

Blaze have stated its not been officially priced yet, but imo it shouldnt be anymore than £100-£130 depending on SNK Playmores cut, its basically their new gamegadget handheld in a nice SNK clothing, both machines just emulating all the games which you can buy in their store when it opens.

are they going to sell games on actual carts or is it all downloads? is there a definitive list of facts for the device or is it all speculation?

i should really google it i guess!

snk produced some really nice artwork and packaging for the aes so i'd like to have boxed games with nice artwork.

i'd definitely pay around £20-£25 a title if the games are boxed products, but then i am a sucker for this stuff. totally not interested if its downloads of the net onto an sd card or somesuch.

No unfortunately its just download only, it has a SD card slot for you to dl your bought games onto, it comes with 20 games, not sure of the prices of Neo-Geo games, but Blaze have stated the game prices for the gamegadget are £1.49-£1.99 per game or game packs of 10-15 games for £9.99, thats all thats known atm i still might pick one up if the stick is decent and it has the full range of Neo-Geo titles.

Here's the 20 games that it comes with in the rom.

Art of Fighting
Baseball Stars
Cyber Lip
Fatal Fury
Fatal Fury Special
Football Frenzy
King of the Monsters
Last Resort
League Bowling
Magician Lord
Metal Slug
Mutation Nation
Nam 1975
Samurai Shodown
Sengoku
Super Sidekicks
The King of Fighters ‘94
The Ultimate 11
Top Players Golf
World Heroes

yeah just checked it out on the net. a shame. also looks like it will be emulated rather than some sort of miniturised neo geo chipset so i'm not expecting exact sound/visual quality to match the originals. Also the images of the console have a widescreen display....i dont know if any neo geo games ever supported that aspect ratio, and indeed the games look really weird stretched like that on the Wii arcade classics.

so close to being totally awesome, but failed at the last.

although blazing star on the move.....

£100-130 - still a tad expensive for what it is if you ask me (especially if imperfect Neo Geo emulation is all it can do).

Oh, and sorry Jagfest as I was one of the initial doubters - think I read too much in some of the little things being a bit "off" (already said I'm a bit of a font nerd).

When was this?! I must have missed it! I've looked through this thread and only Dreamcast asked for the information source?

True, but again if the stick is similar to the NGP one, it will be the best handheld to play Neo-Geo games, and the best looking handheld to boot! and if the full range of games is available then it will get some small market of people wanting one, yes i agree £99 is probably the max for a handheld with the specs, also maybe it will get hacked and allow all emulators and other homebrew goodies to be run, what with GPH gone under so no more stock of the Caanoo, and the Pandora out of each of most people's pockets, i still think it has a market, probably not in the way Blaze will hope for!

You guys will love this! MCV has posted another story saying Blaze has confirmed the £500 price!! And it will be sold in very limited quantites.....at that pricr you could count the sales figures on two hands! Its not even the 1st April! Maybe if it was gold plated and hand signed and came with every NeoGeo game ever made, id still have to say no!

'Retro gaming specialist Blaze has told MCV its planned £500 price tag for the NeoGeo X is accurate, contrary to other reports circulating online.

Games news website Eurogamer posted a story suggesting the £500 price tag is innacurate. It also said a Blaze spokesperson confirmed this.

However, Blaze has told MCV that the £500 price is on the cards but the company is keeping an open mind to a potential price drop.

This £500 figure is based on a conversation MCV had with Blaze today (Thursday, March 15th). It is not based on a 'month-old forum post', which Eurogamer claimed.'

 All this is missing is some pre-PS3 launch type claims about it being like an expensive meal, being sold for too little and people needing to work harder to afford 1.We sure Sony are'nt involved in any way?
