Anyone else played the Vita in the absolute dark and seen any blotches, stipes? It doesn't appear on anything other than loading screens, apparently quite a problem with the OLED technology, playing games it does not appear at all for me however. Anyone else?

Can't say I've encountered that problem, if I have then I simply haven't noticed it :D

Any news on upcoming Vita releases? I'm desperate for Mortal Kombat but not sure when it's due out

It's due very soon, as I said, playing actual games is not an issue at all, not a dead pixel thing, loads of comments on forums if you google it though.

Yes it's only apparent when the screen is showing black but the backlight is on, and as you say you have to be playing in total darkness.

I thought mine was busted when I first saw it!

There's a Silent Hill game out at the end of the month... which looks nothing like a SH game. I might get it if its either cheap or gets good reviews but I'm not holding out much hope for that one. Mortal Kombat is out in May (can't wait, I never did play my PS3 copy that much) and SFxT is out Spetemberish I think. Then there is the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection release in June along with the excellent looking Gravity Daze.

MK is a definite for me, as is SFxT, I'm going to pass on the MGS collection as I already own all of the originals AND the PS3 collection, there's a limit as to how many times I can play them

I've been absolutely glued to Ridge Racer Vita, I will not let anyone say a negative word against it  the gameplay is practically flawless and I absolutely LOVE the online integration. The MMO style team credits, shaving precious seconds off lap times to beat people's ghosts, the music. It's a fantastic package :D I really really urge anyone that's on the fence about it to take the plunge

There is an add on pack for Motostorm RC out this week called the Pro Am Festival.

It's set in a skate park with new car models and liveries and looks pretty cool indeed. Also it's priced at a bargain £2.49!

I'm still playing Rayman Origins. It really is a lovely game, both in looks & sound & it plays wonderfully on the Vita. Probably will be one of my favourite platformers for quite some time.

I was really surprised at how good Rayman was. The Speedruns are absolutely hellish though

I noticed this on my Vita when i purchased it last week, was a tad concerned, however when i realised that it did not appear on any other screen other than full black backlit my concerns disappeared.

Back to the OP, i picked up Ridge Racer, Rayman, Wipeout, Uncharted and Everybodys golf.

TBH i have not had much time to play with the console with work and sick family, however, i was exttremely pissed with Ridge Racer having very limited content. Moreso considering how many copies of RR i have across my formats, and IMHO this one has to be the worst.

The game itself looks lovely, but the lack of a GP or tour mode is unbelievable.

Cant really comment on the rest seeing as i have only had minimal time with them.

Rayman is quite stunning, Uncharted looks really impressive, Wipeout takes me back to the fast PSX paced release and Everybodys golf will, i'm sure be as good as the one on the PSP, which, incidentally is still in my PSP ATM.

Think of Ridge Racer as an MMO, not a single player game, then it makes sense. Your included Gold Pass will get you an additional car, track and host of music tunes.

That's that problem, i'm not really interested in MMO i would have preferred old fashioned Ridge, it was a bad purchase, and the DLC does not swing it for me although i did take advantage of it.

I've been playing Touch my Katamari recently - recommend this to any fans of the past games as it does a really humourous thing of taking the mickey out of itself. There's people you meet in-game who say things like 'Remember when Katamari games were original' and stuff like that. It's kind of as though the developers are poking fun of themselves for not innovating in the previous few games.

You can also 'squash' and 'stretch' the Katamari to roll into different area's it wouldn't normally fit into, which is the new feature for the Vita version using the touch screen.

Bizarre as usual, it's a nice little game if you can pick it up cheap. I don't think it's one you can sit and play for hours on end though.

Must admit, I am impressed with the battery life on the Vita, for all the technology and the power of the console, I can leave it powered off for a few days, come back to it and still have a 80% on it!
