So another one bites the dust. :(

Don't you think you're being a bit paranoid Dreamcast?

Then again maybe you're right, I mean that Kilbot guy is pretty shifty too isn't he? He even has Kirby as his Avatar, I seriously think he could be Iwata. If not Kirby himself!

I've just had a blast on the first stage - to be honest as I'm left handed I need to use the circle pad pro and it makes it quite heavy work (you basically hold the entire weight of the 3DS in your 'controlling' hand and use the stylus to aim) so I've broken out the stand which helps. But then I have a rather ridiculous looking 3DS -

I think the game wil be great as long as people find a control set-up they are comfortable with - it takes some getting used to.

I think these are great lines from the so called marketing manager DCRip. Clearly he is stating that being left handed players could well struggle so it is hardly PR hyperbole.

I really think it is time you backed off. Nobody wants to hear you balancing things, we are all grown up enough to do that ourselves. Why not stick to what you do like rather than bashing everthing else, you are a top poster when you do.

For the record fellow lefties, I may end up just playing right handed as it sounds far easier. I play golf right handed anyway and do a fair few other things that way. We shall see.

I can't blame you for wanting to take some time out from the forum, as it's all getting a bit ugly, but please bear in mind that some of us can spot the difference between hyperbole and genuine enthusiasm and we do value your opinions as well as your insights as an industry insider. So, how about you give yourself a couple of weeks off and resolve not to take the bait when you come back?

Mootown leaving the forum, should he not change his mind, was never my aim. I sincerely hope nobody here tries spinning events in a foolish attempt to 'blame' me for his decision.

What do you mean, "so called"? His is a Marketing Manager for Nintendo. Why are you seemingly disputing this fact?

I'm not. I am pointing out that he is posting as himself, not a PR man.

I haven't been posting here that long, but it does seem like Nintendo Thread + DreamcastRIP = Everyone getting angry!

DramcastRIP, please chill out a little mate, Mootown was just posting HIS impressions of Kid Icarus from him actually playing it. I'll bet that 95% of the people here have already read multiple reviews on various sites across the net which point out the good and bad stuff. But me personally, I don't put a huge amount of trust in journalists, and the opinions of game fans who have actually played certain games give me far more insight into whether I will like a game or not than a list of moans about the control scheme which I've already read will. And yes before you say it he might be a marketing manager, but that doesn't make his opinions less valid, and it doesn't make the opinions of other people you hound on less valid.

Anyway, I wanted to post about Bit Trip Saga. If you were thinking of getting it for 3DS, DO IT. The stylus controls blow the original out of the water in my opinion. Only problem is the price, it's hard to fork out £30 when the Wii version is half that on amazon with extra content. I did talk some of the Rising Star Games guys at the UK launch and they were saying the reason it is so much more expensive is that Nintendo consider th 3DS and its software a 'premium product' compared to the Wi. Which is fair enough, but unless I see BTS around the £20 mark I'm going to leave alone I think. I still want Kid Icarus, Rolling Western, and Mario Kart 7, which is £70 in one go already  And I am so poor!

And Sony? :?

A fairer statement may have been, "... it does seem like 3DS thread + DreamcastRIP = Some people getting angry!".

I can live with that as we don't all have to share the same opinions and this is a forum for free and open debate, not for Nintendo (or any other brand) love-ins. :D

I'm perfectly relaxed, thank you. You'll note from the debate I had with Mootown (and posts to others since) that I wasn't the one hurling ad hominem personal insults or losing their rag by waving goodbye.

I respect the fact you believe Mootown was posting his own opinion of said game. :)

Is this how it's going to be? Dredging through past posts to find the comparatively rare instances where he praised the efforts of companies other than Nintendo? I believe I already earlier acknowledged this point anyway.

I thought you were all for bringing balance. I wasn't looking for through Mootown's past posts at all, I just happened to be reading the "What games are you playing?" and noticed some gushing hyperbole for a Sony game by a supposed Nintnedo shill.

Could it be he just "gushes" about the games he likes (as we all do), regardless of who makes them and which consoles they appear on? If he says more good thing about Nintnedo it could just be that he plays more Nintendo games than anything else, and why shouldn't he?

What he said about Kid Icarus was tame compared to the praise he gave Journey, in fact he said if you only buy one game this month you should buy Journey, not exactly the best way to promote Kid Icarus if that was his agenda.

It *could* be all of those things, yes.

OK lets keep this thread on topic now, no one wants another war of words. If anyone feels that the forum is being used as marketing for a brand and/or product then please let a mod know by using the 'report' button as it is against the AUP. It will then be up to the Mod's to have a discussion and decide whether to take action.

i'm glad that i have no interest in kid icarus as it sounds like a total tramadol case. the game just doesnt appeal to me though.

mootown was a great contributer to this site and will be missed. i doubt very much that the pettiness and complete knobishness of a certain other member would be remotely missed. i would have thought that this forum would be full of rational and mature adults, but it seems that you're going to get morons no matter what the subject matter is.

shame that.

Unsure myself about Kid Icarus. Not at all my sort of game yet all the signs thus far are extermely positive (after a little percerverance). Would have absolutely loved a demo before launch day (like we recieved for Rhythm Thief), but instead on Thursday we get a trial for...Pyramids.
