OK

1 CaptainN - your advice is a little late seeing as how I already have the machine. time will tell if you were right.

2 Jagfest - thanks for the list of games, but a lot of them are well known bad games. I was hoping for a bit more.

3 My revised list is now Iron soldier, Kasumi ninja ( cheap apparently and as Jag has said for the comedy value ) AVP

My list was in reply to CaptainN with regards to the specific genres he mentioned. There are a ton of games I didn't list.

I have previously posted better lists than that in other very similar threads here and here: http://www.retrovideogamer.co.uk/index.php?topic=283.0

I am not sure what you mean by this. Its always been complete. Plenty of people own the game just many own a buggy version.

The post I was referring to is here,

I loved the videos in that thread, much better than the MCD version, so have been waiting for a proper release since watching them, for what seems to be an eternity now.

Oh ok, I have had it for years now.

It will only be a proper release if they get permission from Core design / Square Enix. Many people have tried to release it in the past but permission was refused.

OK Cheers!

I was up in the attic shifting some stuff around earlier, I sat down to have a look at the back of the Jaguar CD box at the game pictures on the back..if only they had got all of these out the door!

I don't know if you have seen this but I have a review for every single Jaguar CD game out there up on my site - http://www.retrovideogamer.co.uk/index.php?page=atari1

Should have a review of the new game Tube up there by the weekend.

Of course, even Robinson's Requiem is out now, I should have said, got them out the door at the time, I have had a look at your reviews before, very informative, and I will look out for the video.

Reading the review of Blue Lighting, I realised I had not taken any notice of the music in the game, due to hating every single moment of playing it, might have to burn the tracks off they really are great, each to their own of course, but I don't think I could be any more than generous than 3/10 for the game though.

Just started Bidding on Kasumi Ninja and Iron soldier on Ebay. had a quick look at the Jaguar CD units and I think I might have to wait for more funds before I even think about getting one. My love for blue lightning on the lynx is making me interested in the CD version.

Defender 2000 is by Jeff Minter who has never made a sh!t game.-This by my fellow poster, Jagfest, got me thinking (all most created new thread).

Been a fan of Jeff's work from the early days, find reading interviews and articles he's written very intersting.Anywho, point here, Jeff, in interview with Edge when Unity was being worked on admitted that he'd over-reacted at the time when Zzap reviewed Mama Llama poorly, saying:

'Looking back, i realise that i was auctually a bit up myself at that time and the game was just too bloody hard to control....controls were several steps beyond the side of acceptable'

So, maybe not 'sh*t', just flawed in terms of control scheme...

However he later went on to say:

' Minter said, "Not seeing a lot of reason to continue even trying to make games, at this point, when a remake of Frogger, one of the worst games in the history of old arcade games, can outsell Space Giraffe that we put so much love and effort into, by more than ten to one, in one week."

He continued, "OK, we get the message. All you want on that channel is remakes of old, censored arcade games and crap you vaguely remember playing on your Amiga. We'll shut up trying to do anything new then. Sorry for even trying."

Which i found tad ironic, as good few of us found Defender 2000 to be more like an Amiga P.D game than anything else and Defender and Tempest updates (2000+3000) hardly 'new', just updates to some classics.

Like Jeff's work, but it has a tendancy to really split peoples views.

Quoted for posterity, Jonboy1977 telling himself not to get one

Classic! We should just name this the schizophrenic thread and pin it for future idiots to see

Or...we could just put it all down to yet (another) forum 'blip' and get back on with some decent debate and the like....?.

Water under the bridge and all that.More attention it and other incidents get, more likely some loony toon seems to want to make a name for themselves.
