I don't. Maybe he received financial assistance from his father in his his early racing career but that's a pretty common occurrence. According to the sage that is Wikipedia, Button attended a comprehensive school and was brought up by his mother from the age of seven after his parents had divorced. Doesn't sound the classic born with a silver spoon in his mouth situation to me.
Ah, but what happened for the first 7 years?
I dunno, just seems a bit of a wet lettuce to me. Lewis on the other hand, seems to relish every moment, or did to start with anyway. I dont watch it as much anymore tbh. its just the impressions I get when I do.
Do your own bloody research, I ain't Michael Aspel!
I sometimes think Button's outward persona that the media is mostly presented with gives the impression he's really laid back. Perhaps that comes across to some as him being a bit casual. In some of the interviews I've seen with Button he came across as an extremely driven and motivated individual. Gone are the days of a few years ago when he had somewhat of a playboy image.
I get the impression he leads a balanced life whereas perhaps with Hamilton the focus on his F1 career is something that absorbs him more. That's not a criticism of Hamilton. My favourite F1 driver, Ayrton Senna, was arguably as narrowly focused on his F1 career as any driver that ever lived. His obsession with his F1 career seemed to be total.
Saying all that, I do get the impression (rightly or wrongly) that a poor performance would 'hurt' Hamilton more than it would Button. Then again, maybe Button is more able to keep his emotions in check so...
