I'm still working through Ninja Gaiden 3. Story mode is so-so at best, at one point it worked out best just to spam projectile attacks instead of attacking head on. The boss fights seem pretty underwhelming so far. The first boss was kind of tough but all since have been surprisingly easy, even on hard mode.
Online/Mission mode though is actually really fun, I'll probably spend more time on this than the main game :?

On a lighter note, I'm also still blasting through Yakuza Dead Souls again. A really fun game even if the shooting can get a bit repetitive at times, thankfully there is more than enough to do to occupy me when not killing the undead.

Finally I'm also playing Asura's Wrath. It looks like I'm nearing the end of it. Its not a complicated game and the fighting system isn't that complicated but its a fun game and the presentation and story are both top notch.

Made a start on Space Marine for the 360, I had it on OnLive for the PC, but the lack of redefinable keys made it bloody tough going for lefties. Can't believe there are still PC games out there without redefinable keys these days, most of my bloody Amstrad games could manage it.

Maaaaaaan censored mega man 2, so I'm at the second last boss or whatever and the flicker is so bad I can't even see what I'm doing. And I don't have enough of the weapon you need to beat that censored part so now I'm just screwed and have to start over. I just got the wily wars version, no censored flicker.

Is that the boss where you need Crash Man's weapon to kill? There is a way to clear the fight with just enough weapon energy but it involves using items 1 and 3 to reach certain area's without destroying certain walls. And yes the shots are almost impossible to dodge, I just have a spare E Tank to get through that fight. Wily Wars still has the problem though doesn't it? I know the damage output from Megaman is reduced (making bosses harder to beat with your buster) and the game has slowdown not present in the original making it worse than the NES version in places :? Still worth it for Wily Tower though!

censored, did not know that I just assumed it would not have that issue. I know you can do it with 1 and 3 but, I just can't do it if I can't see mega man lol. Can you jump the shots, because I always censored get hit.

Ended up losing interest as the solution to most of the challenging bits seemed to be "grind alot", which I usually see as a (really boring) design flaw. Pretty good game otherwise.

.....of course, I SAY I should go back to it, but..... it involves the PS2, so I likely wont, at least, not until there's a PROPER emulator for the damn thing.

You only need to grind to get the proper demon skill to beat Matador. The key to avoiding grinding in SMT Nocturne is to create versatile demons with a lot of skills. And to always build up the protagonist's protection traits. Buffing and debuffing are the most important aspects of SMT games I find.

It is possible to jump them, but you need incredible timing as each shot homes in on you do you have to time it just right. It gets easier at the end when you only have a couple left as there are less shots to dodge.

I have to take my hat off to Suda 51 - I have never in all my 20-odd years as a gamer seen a sequel so effectively fix the problems of the original game. Iffy free-roaming sections? Gone. Boring 'job' sections? Gone (and replaced by cool 8-bit style minigames). Charging you to enter levels thus forcing you to repeatedly play the boring 'job' sections to earn cash? Gone. It's like the original No More Heroes with everything that didn't work removed and everything that did turned up to 11. Which makes it... pretty damn amazing.

Weirdly, now I've played it a bit more I'm starting to miss the first game's more... interesting elements. While it's certainly the better game in just about every concievable way, what NMH2 does is make you realise just how much character those weird, unwieldy sections and obvious flaws added to the first game. The second seems efficient but soulless by comparison.

I'm actually enjoying the story but finding the later bosses a bit generic.. The Giant Robot spider and that Phantom of the Opera in the mask where good boss fights.. The Phantom boss fight is really unfair when he spams that unblockable grab attack, to many generic Helicopter Boss fights for my liking.. I'm in that cave now with the robot insects would have liked more Supernatural/fantastical enemies..

Also Black Tiger on the PSP lot easier than the Jap version on the Wii

I bought the game recently and was actually a little disappointed. It seemed like a pretty pedestrian lightgun shooter livened up by some swears. I personally didn't think it was as good as Dead Space: Extraction or even Ghost Squad.

Adventure Island and Alleyway, courtesy of the Virtual Console.

What is a 3D-capable handheld for if not playing 20 year old games in monochrome?

I just impulse bought Assassins Creed Brotherhood earlier for £8. A bargain imo, especially as the bonus codes were unused! As for the game? More of the same, but thats not a bad thing.
