I would put that in my 10 most pointless, overrated and dull films list.

Really? For me that is a brilliant portrayal of how dull, meaningless and boring life becomes as you get older, have children etc. And a great reminder of how life was before the mortage, marriage, kids etc became the centre piece of it. And Kevin Spacey pulls the role off brilliantly if you ask me.

Maybe you have to be living that life to like the film.

I'm with SirClive. Found it dull, can't see why it was raved about.

I tried to watch the 15th episode of Fringe(season 4) - but my Sky+ box mucked up! I only got half the episode!

I then watched 'Tabloid : Sex in Chains'. It was a documentary about the Joyce McKinney case. Quite interesting, as I don't think I was born when this was going on. It only got a limited release at the cinemas last year. It was good, but I wouldn't put it in the same class as 'Touching the Void', 'Bowling for Columbine' or 'Supersize Me'.

As for 'American Beauty' well it is a pretty good film, but overrated in my opinion. It was one of those films that gets lots of awards and the critics love it. I would have said that 'Being John Malkovitch', 'The Insider', 'Fight Club', 'The Sixth Sense' and 'The Matrix' were better films from that year. 1999 was a vintage year for films. Out of them, I would say that 'Fight Club' should have been film of the year, with 'Being John Malkovitch' coming in a close second.

I see that there's a new series starting next Wednesday called Breakout Kings, from the makers of Prison Break which I never watched for some reason.

Deathstalker. A decent Conan imitation overall. Just a shame that the three sequels don't seem to have received PAL DVD releases.

Did anyone watch the killing when it aired a few months back? It was quite boring, and it never stopped bloody raining. But I had to watch it for some weird reason. Im not sure whether there will be a season 2 or not...But I would look forward to it if there was.

The US one? I watched it & found it quite enjoyable. I think the second series has just started in the US this month.

Went to see The Woman in Black last week. Was disappointed tbh. I thought Daniel Radcliffe was pretty wooden and there was a distinct lack of jumpy moments. I suppose it was because of the 12 rating. Could have been so much better......

Been bed bound again so caught up on quite a few I wanted to watch...

Clash of the Titans (remake) - not bad... bit 'fluffy' but...
Immortals - _OUTSTANDING_. By far the best of the recent 'Gods' movies...
Aaaaghh Zombies - pure infantile fun... so well shot...
Predators - a bit 'meh' for my liking... a wasted opportunity...
The Fourth Kind - everybody hates it, i kinda liked it...
Conan - Hmm, verdict is still out on this one... wooden acting from Mowgli and no plot as such...

As Morkin said, the US version or the original Danish version? It is a reasonable political thriller, but overlong. The second season of the Danish version got shown on BBC 4 a few months ago, unfortunately I missed it.

Last night I caught up with more of 'The Good Wife' and 'The Big C'. Probably More 4's best dramas.

I only saw the US one (the misus won't sit through subtitles  ), but I liked it a lot. It was quite long, but I sort of liked that. I also liked the constant rain as well!

Am I right in saying that the US one finished halfway compared to the Danish one?
