Platforms covered in main features in issue 101:

BBC Micro
Mega Drive
Arcade (1980s, 1990s)
MSX2/PlayStation/PSP/PS3
TRS-80/Spectrum
NES

Issue 100:

Spectrum
Game Boy
C64 x 2
Mega Drive
Odyssey
VCS
PC
BBC Micro
Arcade (1980s)

And these have been two of the more 8-bit-oriented issues over the past year…

Well then the formats which received no cover include:

PC Engine
Master System
Virtual Boy
SNES
N64
Neo Geo
Mega CD
32X
3DO
Jaguar

Will we see any of these covered next issue? Virtual Boy is confirmed, so lets hope we see more of the others then....

Well you could, but it wouldn't be very in-depth

I didn't have anything to do with the NES collectors article beyond the questions I was asked. I wasn't trying to be factually correct more chatty and the comment about it being a hit everywhere but here, was more my experience. PAL B/European releases were in greater numbers than the UK. I run a NES website sure but I don't claim to know everything

This list might tell you why: http://countrycode.org/tv-standards

Over 80 countries used PAL B

While the only ones that used PAL I were the UK, Ireland, South Africa, Hong Kong and a few really minor places.

Grabbed my copy from Smiths today (last one on the shelf - get in!) and haven't read it yet but I was immediately drawn in by the Lucky & Wild article. How have I not heard of this game before? Looks like exactly the kind of arcade game that I'd love :D . This is the kind of thing that makes RG essential reading in my opinion.

Looks like it's off to get the latest version of MAME then...

I kinda noticed that already in your article on page 24 of NES-Bit fanzine issue one where you stated,

"Without getting into a lengthy history lesson for the NES it was Nintendo's console that singlehandedly forced the phoenix to rise from the ashes, making the whole gaming industry profitable once more."

(Bold added for emphasis to highlight the ludicrously false statement)

Yep, it's only a fanzine so such wildly inaccurate things are to be perhaps expected.

I've just returned home from having spent five hours in the care of the local hospital's A&E department and being loaded up on morphine so I'm really not in the mood to be dealing with such nonsense.

Surely being loaded up with morphine is the perfect time to deal with it?

It might make re-reading this month's 'Collector's Guide' less painful!
